Newcomer's build [Ger] + 2nd one

Yes I am referring to this. I take that risk without fuse.

That is the work of six hard training sessions  I hope I will finish 2nd build within this year

@Ackermann I will be showing this vid to my wife. This will give her the motivation to keep supporting me on the build

This will be the mast mount. At least in theory

Continuing the discussion from Newcomer's build [Ger] + 2nd one:

For sure I will. She’s already talking about next summer :joy:

Mast Plate done, same strangeness like first build. Gong mast holes are not symmetrical! If you turn the plate 180° it won’t fit anymore. I am not talking about the mast shape, just the holes to screw it

For the plate the strongest tool is a pen and an ruler. Find the middle of your board, find middle of plate and mast mount. For drill I use a stand. Inserts are additional coated with epoxy as well as the drilled holes. Use a brush for that, do not dip otherwise your thread will coated

I started also to fill the motor mast mount with epoxy. Printed with 0% infill, drill two holes and add epoxy with syringe. I should have better waited a little to get the epoxy more sticky (or add a filler) since my print is leaking sonewhere

And my favorite work, using the router line for line

Too late now to continue, it’s too loud

What material did you use for the mast plate?

Siebdruckplatte, coated plywood in Englisch maybe. It looks like this

I used a 19mm thick version of this

The journey continues

Nothing much to add here…I tried to work very exact to be able to use a minimum of epoxy to glue the mast plate. So far it worked, let’s wait until it’s dry. I always mount mast to see if it’s in exact position. First align the board with spirit level, then you can check the mast

Hi Jan,

great builds and great info in this thread.

My question, if you would be doing it all over, would you choose 120 KV flipsky motor or would you stick to 100 KV?
Would you stick to the same gong foil or would you go for another one, maybe this one GONG KITEFOIL ALLVATOR ALLROUND https://www.gong-galaxy.com/en/product/gong-kitefoil-allvator-freestyle/.

Thanks
Mislav
