Saite 6384 vs Flipsky 6384

Hello, builders

I am deciding on the parts for my first DIY foil assist kit (backpack/belt version). I currently use FD Gen2 High Power motor, and its power is more than enough for me. After reading about the brands I am currently considering Saite (as people say they might/are the FD supplier) and Flipsky since they offer on what it seems great products in general.

So I’ve been in touch with Saite, and they say their 6384 waterproof motor KV can be customized. They have also sent the pictures:

…looks waterproof, also have asked Saite to send the measures of the stator and the KV customizable range. (will post later as soon as they reply)

Now the Flipsky 6384 already comes preconfigured 140KV at 4400w

… I’ve tried talking to them and they reply, but at quite a slow rate. I will try calling them later this week with the help of my Chinese-speaking friends

“The Problem/Doubt”
I’ve spent a bit of time trying to understand what would be the “most efficient” KV configuration for battery run time and torque/thrust generation and from what I understood, it usually has lower KV values 120-130, but I have no practical experience to really make up my mind around it.

Would someone mind sharing their thinking process/personal experience with these motors and different KV used in personal builds?

Don’t bother to ust ceramic bearings, get stainless steel, as ceramic will not last long.

I also did all the above! And I also not sure about Saite 6374/6384 and about the kv.
I measured FD 6374 motor kv , it is 140. It is stronger than Ali 6384. I suppose the FD HP motor kv is 140, but waiting for someone to actually measure it…
Since I am using fd like prop, I will choose Saite kv the same as fd motor kv.
Go ahead and measure HP kv.

Flipsky motor I would not want to touch ever again. I and my buddy have tried 6374, it was weak, heated too much and vibrated . I have not had any other motor vibrating, this one did, even with best bearings.

Hi, thank you for the reply, I’ve got Saite 6384 at 130 KV

Chris from Saite said that mostly commonly ordered model is 130 KV, it arrived and looks identical to FD V2 v1 6374 motor with fixed 20cm (before they introduced replace cable). Just finised connecting the setup with my friend feels good, however sounds slightly different to the FD High Power versoin.

What’s you feeling on that?

That is good you are testing this. I haven’t ordered yet.
I guess that the sound depends on the bearings…
Yes, 130kv seems like middle ground.
I am mostly interested to know if it is at least as powerful as the FD hp

I changed from a FD 6374 to the HP motor and it sounds very different, just ‘noisy’.

I used to follow the Facebook group and nobody had issues with the bearings other than after lots of use.
