Sequre ESCs Information

Would love a link to the discord and other places. Been dealing with sudden stop at higher throttles. Broken many props and now it just amputated its own motor wires and destroyed my build. Would love to figure this out before more destruction.

Hello @mkefoil , after setting the PWM frequency min and max to the same value of 24, timing to 10 and no damp mode, it started to run smoothly and with a lot of power with no cogging.

That’s great to hear. Thanks for testing parameters. Did you test under load? Unfortunately none if my issues appeared until it was under quite heavy load (ie. Not on foil at high throttles).

Yes, it was cogging first after 50% throttle so it was hard to take off, when I changed I could foil flawlessly

Interesting. Maybe mine was cogging as well but I never noticed since it would manifest as an aggressive stop on the fist cog. Scary. Do you think it was the timing or the pmw max or the timing adjustment that had the most influence on that situation?

On the plus side: I now have interchangeable cable lengths after the rebuild

I think the right setting change is PWM max frequency because it is active with more than 50% throttle

Correction: More you higher the timing later you get the cogging when rampup. So I finally stopped at value 20 for my inrunner Flipsky 70165, I can now go full throttle flawlessly.

So nearly defaults there. PWM still has a significant influence I guess.

I fear I might be hitting an rf dropout effect. I have a passive antenna extension that works well when my remote is nearly touching it. At speed though it seems like water flow is still causing an issue (even though the remote still shows decent reception). Going to try a wired antenna extension next.

Carrying on Escape 32 fine tuning thanks to Claude AI because my 70165 is sensitive to cogging and ESC warm too quick.

It was previously possible to ride but without Damp mode active I had to compensate with a high timing to avoid cogging on take off. It clearly caused overheating.

The most important : Damp mode active keeps the temperature down and allows to lower timing
It allowed me to go from 20 to 16.

Duty Ramp from 0 to 20 limits the cogging also

Ride is enjoyable like this, no more esc limitation because of overheating. Remaining slight cogging at extra high load…

I increased timing to 18 only, ESC runs flawlessly without cogging or heating too much.

Update : I was reaching the first “slow down” temperature protection step when I was riiding full gas for a while. I changed the PWM max from 16 to 32. I can ride longer like that and the temp recovers quicker.
