Starting my first efoil project need advice!?

So I’m about to go and order a bunch of parts and I figured I should run by my parts list with you guys to see if I buying the better product for my needs. I’ve been reading a lot here over the years and it can be overwhelming at times but I have the majority of it.
So the Plan and the Parts.

I’m taking a slingshot fish 5’ board with two cabrihna foils and mast 1 mast 70cm the other 90 cm. I plan on converting the 70cm mast to a fulltime permanent efoil with the motor pod mounted close to the foil for cruising flat water. and the 90 cm for a foil assist setup that’s removeable. both will be set up to connect to the backpack style battery mount on and old harness so as to not modify the board at all(easier to swap over to other boards.
I have a1200cm3 and a 950cm3 foils that will be used but mostly the 950.

I’ve tried 1 efoil it was a lift 4 150foil and it was heavy but really fast and more than enough power for me… but draggy.

I looking at mostly power assist for ocean surf and was considering a 5084 motor but other have suggested that the 6384 from flysky is a great first motor then down size from there so Im curious what setup to get is that 2 bladed folding prop anygood or should I get an aftermarket 3 bladed one any suggestions?
so I’m on saltwater so ceramic bearings short shaft? long shaft?
Flipsky Waterproof Brushless DC 6384 Motor 140KV 4400W for Surfing Boa – FLIPSKY

What esc should I pair with that and how bad are the new remotes for leaking.
They offer a kit at the bottom of the page for $346 esc, remote, motor and 2 bladed prop. I that what I should start with or up grade the remote to this
Flipsky New IP68 Waterproof Remote VX5 5000mAh With High Resolution Di – FLIPSKY
as for Batteries I have a bunch of tenpower 50xg 21700 cells coming that I’ll be putting into 6s2p packs to run in a pelican case at 12s2p and 12s4p.

Any and all advice would be appreciated
Cheers!

Kit is kinda bad.

You likely do not want the VX3 and you probably want different ESC.

The prop is cheap, so it’s not really a mistake.

In general I would try to plan a bit further before buying anything or you will end up with stuff that does not really work.

Don’t buy this ESC; I tried it and for assist it is very difficult to parameter efficiently;

My Advice is to buy a sequre 14200 pro in BlHeli32 , very simple and do the job;

For the motor , the 6384’s flipsky is good with an foildrive 3 pales propoeller , and the remote , one maytech v3

Thank you for your quick and truthful replies,
I figured the package they put together would be shit. I know I came to the correct place to ask questions.
So motor is a good choice with the short shaft and ceramic bearings,
While I was looking up that esc I found one I cant tell or not if its the same but its water proof.
SEQURE WP14200 200A 5-14S IP68 Waterproof Brushless ESC for eFoil/Surf
then the pro
SEQURE 14200 Series 200A 5-14S Brushless ESC AM32/BLHeli_32/ESCape32 f

Is the only difference that the first one is water proof and the second is not and air cooled?.. anybody know more about the differences in these esc’s

So this is the remote you guys suggest is the best?
Maytech V3.0 IP68 Waterproof Remote MTSKR1905WF Controller for Esk8/ E – Maytech.cn–Maytech official website

and when I go to the foil drive site for the 3 bladed folding prop it doesn’t even give the motor size just that it fits all of there models. is this correct?
Three Blade Propeller Upgrade | Foil Drive

are there better aftermarket 3bladed props?

Thanks again for your replies, I have more research to do.

Cheers!

Ceramic bearings don’t last, better use stainless steel from the beginning. Rinse in fresh water after each use. If you use anfoldibg prop, you can remove the circlip, like that you can remove the bell without tools to rinse it.

Interesting, the ceramic doesn’t last. So you can pull the prop off and flush with fresh water. when it dries do you oil it or treat it for rust. I live on the ocean and stainless steel still rusts eventually. I plan on rinsing everything with fresh water anyways so it doesn’t stink or get crusty with salt.

So where do I find one with ss bearings. the flysky site says its ceramic bearings. Is this where there comment " Customized (please leave notes)" so when I buy it from them I ask for sealed stainless steel bearings instead of ceramic… they will do that? does it cost extra?

anyone have a link?

Cheers!

You need to change them yourself, einther before you use it or after the ceramic ones break. You should find the specification of the replacement bearings in the forum.

My Flipsky ceramic bearings have been ok.
6374 is now at almost 400km on the original bearings.

So I would not worry about it for now.
Unless you cannot get replacements fast.

Well I went to buy the motor today and found it on aliexpress for $80cdn cheaper and it states that it is from flysky official company.
So the fly sky website says $226.90usd which is $318cdn

or aliexpress for $200.63 = $37.19 for shipping, $237.82cdn

Have any of you seen this before is it the same company and its just the summer sale on ali express…

I bought my XG50 cells and so waiting for the slow boat from china. In the mean time I’ve decided to make fiberglass pod mounts instead of 3d printed as I dont have a printer but I do have plenty of fiberglass supplies. I’m broke after buying batteries so looking to save as much as possible on the first proto type. so if anybody can confirm if theses are the same products that would be wonderful.here’s the links.
Cheers!
