Hey,
To evade stupid German law I want to use a rod instead of a rope for towing. How long are typical ropes in tow boogies? Would a 3,5m rod be sufficient?
I personally use a 7.6m rope for my boogies, but I know there are a lot of people that use much shorter ropes. I don’t see any issue with using a rod as long as you have a pivot on it like a ball joint, but I think at a minimum it would need to pivot up and down. If it doesn’t pivot side to side I think it would make it very squirrelly. The only other issue might be the rod hitting the board during takeoff if you’re on your belly, but f you start on your knees or standing then it probably won’t be an issue.
