Tow Boogie using two Foil Drive Assist Plus units with a special remote?

I would really like having a simple, inexpensive, and easy to build Tow Boogie using two Foil Drive Assist Plus (FDAP) units that I already own. I have a foil board and I plan to mount the two motors side by side, about 12" apart, near the center of the foil board. The two battery boxes would be mounted on the deck of the board, directly above the motors, near the left and right side rails. I picture having one remote control which is paired to the two (FDAP) receivers. I would like to have a left right joy stick on the remote which would allow me to manually steer the tow boogie back to me. I would really appreciate help from the experts. Is there any way I could have a remote that normally requests the same motor speed, but can change the commanded speeds to manually steer the tow boogie?

easiest is to attach the two separate remotes side by side and use it that way, to steer only press one remote trigger.

recommend to use the external antenna and rewire a Long range one, FD antenna sucks

Thank you very much. I like that solution. I’m not sure I understand the antenna part. completely. Is it just the receiver antenna I need to improve or the tramitter too? Thanks.

just RX, I think FD sells a kit but im sure there’s other ways too

Thanks very much! I appreciate it.

This is almost exactly my set up … I used two foil Maytech remotes (same as FD) in a 3D print holder (can send you STL if you would like). It’s really easy to use and setup. The main negative is the range sucks 50-100m. I started with two sepate boxes with standard FD Gen 1 standard batteries - this works OK but run time maybe 30 minutes. I now have two bigger boxes - each with 2 FD standard style batteries in series so effectrivley 16S3P (though mine are p50b Molicels instead of the P42A). This gives an hour of runtime / 17km of range.

Re Antenna - I have mounted two bigger antennas outside the boxes thinking it would greatly improve the range - sadly range still sucks.

Did you have any luck with better external antennas making a big difference - any tips if so? I’ve tried a couple of different 2.4ghz antennas mounted on top of the boxes - but a bit dissapointed with the improvement.
