Trouble getting Flipsky 75200 working in UART

Hi All,
Have a Flipsky 75200 Pro ESC and a VX3 Pro remote. Can get working in PPM mode no problems but wanted to try and get the power feedback to the remote to see what I am using.
Changed the cable to the UART connection as per the manual and cables supplied. Connected to the VESC tool and changed the General app to use UART and saved. Changed the remote to UART mode.
Remote appears to connect to the ESC. Blue light on the RX is solid. I get the RU Heading at the top of the remote to show UART connected. I have a ESC Temp displayed on the remote so assuming getting that data from the ESC. The battery voltage is showing 97%, Batteries fully charged.
Unlock the remote and pull the trigger the power slider goes up on the remote but noting from the motor and nothing on the displays in the VESC program.
Totally new to VESC so maybe just missed something simple.
I do get an error ESC voltage 0 when I first plug in but once powered up reads full. So assume its just a glitch powering up.

Any suggestions appreciated.
cheers

Guess there is a way to just use UART.
But I also did not get it to work, but did not really try for long.

Just connected UART and PWM both, easy solution for me.
