Ultimate foil assist for waves

Hi Remy
My motor has turned up would you mind sharing the pod files for the 5058 motor
Cheers Aatan

Hi Aatan, I have shared everything there so far (just need to create a free account to access the designs) foilstate - Tinkercad

What prop you are using with 5085? Thanks

I am using 3 foildrive alu blades. I tried 2 blades and I would say it’s not as good, less low end, more top end, more energy consumption it seems (5-10%) as the motor needs to run faster to produce the same thrust. I tried a bunch of proto blades but I have not found better so far. Currently running the 750 silk v2 and able to flat water start quite easily, I get around 13km of session out of 13ah battery which is great, same as the 6384 motor I would say.

These? Aluminium Propellers (Three)

What are you using for the hub? Thanks. I have 5085 and looking for a prop

Yes, I am using the kparts blades that are supposedly the same. For the hub I made my own model that is on tinkercad if you want it, it has a diagonal bottom mount to swap hubs/blades easily. 3d printed in petg-cf 30 walls, it’s basically 100% filled.

Also, It would be great if you can send me a link to buy exact blades you are using.

I have an access to FD scanned props but need the hub.
Tinker cad you say ahh cheers I’ll have a look cheers.
Keen to try this motor on my new deticated assist board build

Has anyone got a clean phase plug idea to be able to remove mast. I’m after a clean zero drag finish

Hi, thanks for sharing, I managed to send the 5085 hub to fusion, but I don’t get your design with the green triangular part in the middle with those red bridges. Did you slightly misalign the angle to get space for the screw heads? That red bridge seems quite thin. What material did you print it from?

The center suboptimal design (triangle and bridges) is there to stop the props from folding further and touching each other… They have a complex asymmetrical shape at the base and the space left in the center of the hub is very limited, so I came up with this shape but it is definitely possible to improve this, or adapt depending on a different blade base shape. I print in petg-cf 30 walls 80% infill.

Thanks, that makes sense. I‘ll try and see. I think I‘ll print it in cc3d pbt pro. Maybe it could be split the way the FD hub is designed. Heat insert from the motor side and then screw the triangle with the bridges after installation (over the heads of the screws.

Hello, new user here!.

Thanks for sharing your project, it looks amazing!, I’m trying to build my own, mainly for small Mediterranean waves and maybe sometime for lightwind wingfoiling, and I find your approach very interesting.
About the solid state batteries, they look great, have you had any issues with them?, I already contacted Racepow, they told that your batteries comes in a configuration of 6s1p (2x, 13Ah), do you think I better will go for the 6s2p, 26Ah? Cause I will mainly surf knee high waves, and 80 kg, I really find those values pretty amazing for those batteries.

Thanks again for your help!

Loving the solid batteries so far, more grunt even on low voltage, more capacity per weight, faster charge. They say it’s 1p but it behaves exactly like a 2p. In my experience the 2 x 13ah in series is a perfect upgrade to 12s2p samsung/molicel battery pack.
