Curious if any underboard builds or gen2 foildrive users are having any issues with the carbon plates on inflatable boards blocking remote signals.
Starting a new build and this would be a non starter if it’s a problem. Doesn’t seem like it is for foil drive users but wanted to ask.
For what it’s worth, on my Gong Hipe board, the foil tracks (and handle) are actually open slots in that carbon plate (hence why it’s critical to use blind nuts with those to prevent any risk of damage to the PVC skin). So the signal should be able to go through.
Water is the main issue, and the tracks are filled with foam sheets.
You could test with a Bluetooth device to see if the signal gets through such as headphones playing music and place phone under the board where you want the transmitter.
There is a comment on here with a link showing a cheap Bluetooth antenna, and all you need to do is expose the wire next to the transmitter. It doesn’t look like it could be that easy, but it is.
