Hi, GONG has some nice discounts and I’m trying to build a simple setup to start my efoil journey. Do these components make sense? The only thing I’m not sure about is the front wing, but I’m sure someone can help me out with this
Thanks a lot!

Not cool to create multiple threads here asking about the same thing!
Lots of info here about what Gong setups work well and why.
If you don’t want to invest some of your time using the search function and reading content then I’m done with you.
IGNORE ON!
The gong xover is a proven winner in L wing and large stab with 85cm mast.
I went with the curve and have L, xl and xxl wings and stabs on 85cm mast.
I am 95kg and the xxl is ok but too big.
I am still testing but the stabs I like are bigger than the front wing suggestrd by gong.
I also now have the 16cm stab extension and really love it.
The L or XL curve front with extension on the 46 is really a stable carver at 25 to 30kmh.
Thanks a lot. I guess then I should go with a different front wing. I tried doing some research, but this is still all very confusing… The Allvator front wing is on a big discount and thats why I would have really liked to go for it
Also the lake I will mainly foil in is very shallow, so the 65cm mast is pretty much my max. It’s the biggest lake in Austria
whoa my friend, no need for the hostility
My other thread was asking about a DIY foil wing build and I quickly understood that this is not the way to go and it makes no sense to continue on this road. I tried to and will continue to do research, but this forum software if confusing as hell to me
I hope we can be friends again
The 65cm mast is really on the short side. It will work but 75cm-85cm is more typical. You lose some of the mast when you mount a motor and only have the space above the motor to ride with. Having less of this space means you’ll breach the motor a bit sooner and fall (until you learn how to recover from a motor breach).
The kite wing is also questionable. Kite foils are often smaller with less lift because they go ripping at high speed. You want a wing that’s big enough to lift at lower speeds and feel nice and stable for learning. Gong curve series is popular, probably something in the 1300cm2-1800cm2 range is good.
Yes thanks, I finally begin to understand the cm2 values :). The kite wing does not have any values, but judging from the size, it seems to be insufficient.
I just really like the price :D.
The lake in Austria sometimes has a depth of under 1m, which is why I wanna go with the short mast
If it’s an Austrian lake, hopefully it’s pure and clean and you can avoid some of the shallows!
Totally muddy, but still very good water quality
