Waydoo quality issues

I am new here and a hope-to-be e-foiler. I hope someone here can help me.
I was once a surfer and I have been watching the wake surfers out on our lake with great envy. Now I am seeing e-foilers and these really appeal to me. I am looking at Waydoo Flyer One + because it is the only one that is in my price range. But the price point compared to its competitors leads to some concern about its quality. In doing my research I find a lot of posts about quality issues with Waydoo. But most of the posts are from '22 and earlier. Has Waydoo solved their quality issues and are they now producing a reliable product?

Hi Mike, this might help. You don’t have to join, unless you post

Yes seems like this with thousands sold… Just buy a waydoo Flyer Plus as this seems to be much better quality;-)

If they ship to your place, SiFly is also a good choice with their Rider Eco at less than 5000usd-eur: https://sifly.global/

Yeah this looks pretty nice too. Looks like they copied Fliteboard and Waydoo and got the best out of it

Is this brand known to be good/reliable?

We don’t see/read complaints about the brand which means either the quality is good or the customer service is satisfactory …

Not many people here ride full production rigs - more of a diy forum so I don’t think you will find a lot of ‘ first hand knowledge informed opinion here.

Personally I wouldn’t buy anything other than Fliteboard or Lift as I think the competition is going to die sooner than later.

However, here you’ll find people in the DiY world reading other forums like

Even if Waydoo started with technical issues they overcame, Sifly is like Waydoo, they are backed by a big company who know how to develop, assemble, support their product. Sifly is backed by the Daisy group based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Sifly started in 2022 and did all well the first year expanding their reseller and school network mostly in EU. They have a good momentum, they offer what looks like quality products for a reasonable price, they back their products and they participate to boat shows… like not many except Lift or Fliteboard do. On e-surfer.com, efoil owners of any brand share their frustation quite easily. As far as Sifly is concerned … no complaint about their battery / motor / remote / app.
They are assembled in Bulgaria I presume. I bet a US dollar that Sifly will offer a 2026 range.
Sure, 2024 has been a bad year for the efoil industry so let’s ask Mike akka @jetsurfingnation who has interviewed the CEOs and tested their product at the 2023 Cannes boat show to share his feeling about Sifly with us…
In 2024, the Sifly prices range from 5760 to 8500€/USD exc VAT for non EU residents, 6900 to 10200 €/USD including VAT for EU residents.

@efoilfun, still happy with your August 2023 5600€ Sifly Rider Eco ? I’ve read that the quality has improved in 2024 over 2023 …

The common point between sub 8500usd 2024 non Chinese “survivors” is that they back their products: PWRFoil, the 4200/5000usd Whimsifoil Plume, …
The Takuma Cruiser appeared to have many flaws very early that Takuma didn’t take care of properly …

I have not heard anything bad about sifly, i know my friend in Sesimbra was using their boards over 1.5 years now for rentals, so far so good!

Now, you have your answer. If a rental owner ($$$) still trusts an efoil brand after two seasons… it does mean something about reliability.

Yes it seems Sifly does very well… A lot of them cruising around now, and only issues I heard are about zippers and broken Props, but guess thats normal if you hit something with a plastic prop
