I’m about to build a battery pack but I am only a beginner in those things.
Batteries I considered to use according to price and qualities are Samsung 30Q from nkon.nl
It will be 12s14p Li-ion battery pack (168 in total of 18650).
What other parts are commonly used in building battery pack? (BMS, wires for wiring and other)
(I know that batteries can be recharged with balancer or discharged without a BMS, but I rather use BMS since it will be safer for battery pack.)
Yeah, I read that thread about batteries, but that thread is mainly about what 18650 to use. Took some advises from there and here I am. Thank you for your response friend
Another user found this too! This is promising but quite risky since you don’t know which cells they use and if the battery pack actually meets the stated specs. I personally wouldn’t risk it but it could be a good option. Only problem would be that the BMS will need to be upgraded as 50a continuous may not be enough to foil. AliExpress does not equal quality guaranteed!
Let us know what the supplier says! It would be great to have a supplier that can provide ready-to-go li-ion battery packs! However, I would ask for a higher amp BMS if you plan on ordering.
I asked them:
“I wanted to ask could you customize battery to 12S, 50Ah, with 150A or 200 A discharge BMS.
What would be battery pack weight and price?”
They replied:
“Yes .Sir ,no problem . We can customize 12S, 50Ah, with 150A or 200 A discharge BMS. If provide you 12S 50Ah with 150A BMS ,its price is 860 USD ;
If provide you 12S 50Ah with 200A BMS ,its price is 900 USD ;Its net weight is about 11.5KG.”
Thanks for asking, I decided to build one of my own. After all, one of my goals in this project is to get more knowledge and acquire more skills in things like electronics, forming carbon fiber and etc.
