Battery has only a single connector, so it means they discharge via BMS. Do you know or can estimate which BMS, how many amps?
And if that’s what they do, why most build here discharge without BMS?
You can have BMS only for charging and just watch combined battery voltage for discharge in VESC.
This way the BMS can be smaller and it is not a part of a power chain.
I have BMS in each battery and it is just for charging and putting out enable signal for VESC.
So it is one more safety measure: If just one P group would discharge too much it would shut down VESC to prevent battery damage.
They use a charge only BMS. They have 4 pins on their connectors.
my friend with gen2 says 2 pins
Are those packs sealed in a liquid rubber coating or hard like epoxy?
Well, the bulit quality of the battery looks terrible.
Yeah, I’ve heard many an argument that they are where they are because there’s simply no other competitors. Their quality sits at a prototype testing stage of quality, but their users accept that because they haven’t been able to buy any other options. I think with the alternatives coming they gonna have to up their game.
