Which e foil to start with?

Former surfer, former skateboarder Moto accident ruined my knee, avid Bodyboarder, Moto racer, Mt biker, tried e foiling yesterday, and was surprised my knee can take it, I think I want to buy one, but Just e foiling on flat , I know I will get bored after a while, I live at the beach in Costa Rica , we have good waves, I Boogieboard almost every day.
I would like to surf the waves with the e foil, but I am a total beginner, what board would you recommend, the brand sold near me is Lift, is it possible to do this as a beginner with just one board? I am trying not to buy a board that I will want to change in 3 months.
Of course I dont plan to go to the waves until I am good enough

Initially I struggled to stand up like for 30 minutes, but once I got it, I felt very comfortable riding the e foil

Well if you want an efoil, and have the cash, probably Lift is your best option. Having local brand support is a really good idea unless you’re keen to go down the DIY route when things go wrong. Probably getting one of their smaller Sport or Pro boards would serve you best since most quickly progress past needing the larger boards. A folding prop would be best for riding waves.
efoils are a great gateway to foiling since it allows you to get up and learn to balance on the foil. It’s possible to ride them on waves unpowered, but there are better options for that. You could also consider a foil assist. Or you could pivot and try wing foiling (though lessons would be needed and it’s best if there are other wing foilers in the area)

Lift is a very reputable company, the only other one that imo is worth considering is Fliteboard that have two dealerships in country.

Both companies have been around long enough that you might be able to buy a good used one to get started with. You can also efoil in large boat wakes with full sized models and maybe get a folding prop to get a feel for what they would be like in waves.
