Hello guys, i am looking for a solution to be able to disconnect the 3 main wires between the electronic box and the mast.
I need a wire connector for all three wires, or 3 seperate connectors for each one of the wires. Is there something on the market witch is waterproof and can withstand 80A? (IP68)
The connectors should like something like this…
Thanks in advance, and lots of greetings, Joe
80A is very high, i got something smaller, send me pm.
I am also interested in that, found http://www.chogoriusa.com/ and they have 50amp connectors but haven’t found a store that have all the types i want and not be forced to buy 100+ of each
I hope this is the PM section.
What intersting parts do you have?
Lots of greetings, Joe
Hello Powerglider, can you please pm me please? I can‘t find a way to send a PM on the mobile version.
Thanks a lot and greetings, Joe
I bought some 3 pin connectors from china some months ago, they are rated for 35A. The pin diameter is 4mm. The cable diameter is 15mm so its suited for 3 times 6mm^2 or AWG10. I use it to connect my battery/ESC box with the motor/fin. I tested it with 60A with a VESC for 20 minutes. It becomes warm but not hot in still air. Its IP67 or 68 i do not remember. If you clamp it too tight you need a plier to open it. It has been absolutely sturdy until now. It is perfectly isolating.
I would sell it for 20€ + shipping within europe. I also have some fitting cable i can sell you in small quantity.
Hello Powerglider, do you have a Photo of them? That sounds very great! Thanks in advance. Greetings, Joe
My Solution is to keep the plugs dry. I have built a watertight cavity beneath foil.
Would be great to find out what Lift uses or something similar. They have a large two pin connector to the battery with a lock type connector (this is likely custom made). The the 3 motor phase connectors they use look very interesting!
Check out the video below at 1:20.
There’s a good chance they are made by Amphenol.
You could use the Hirose EV1 connector as it is IP68 rated and can handle 125A constant with 180A burst.
I’m planning on using these for the battery and the motor plugs because I am building a board that is similar to lift efoil and have a 3D printed waterproof case that’ll hold the esc and arduino that I’ll be using as a receiver
Looks like those are rated for a max of 13 amps. You think that will hold up?
I don’t see why not if any thing the worst that I’d have to do is re 3D print the case.
Scratch my plugs I got them in the mail and they are tiny I’m printing my own waterproof connectors for the 3 pole motor wires and 2 pole for the battery that’ll be using the same 6mm bullet connectors that I’m using for the motor to wire extensions that go through the mast.
Attached is stl for both if anyone wants to use them.
for 13A, but you also have to know the tension! what is the max voltage of this jack?
How did your connectors end up working?
I went to download the fusion files but not available. Could you share them so they can be downloaded? Happy to add to it.
i want to user your files for my build but i can’t download it.
Please, can you share it again?
