DIY Efoil build for the sandy steppes of Kazakhstan :)

Why don’t you want to get the Flipsky ESC made for your motor. If you buy a package from Flipsky it all fits together it comes with the Bluetooth module to talk to the controller pre wired you just plug it in. The remote display information from the motor and ESC like temperature state of the battery etc… If you buy another ESC that nobody uses you will have to figure out how to make it work with the remote assuming it’s even possible.

I need your advice guys! I was planning to buy Foil X-Over V2 - Alu 85 set https://www.gong-galaxy.com/en/products/gong-foil-allvator-setup-wing-x-over?variant=48102960070975
But I found Foil X-Over V3 - Alu 85 :joy: GONG - Foil X-Over V3 - Alu 85 – GONG Galaxy
As you can see, the price is not much different for these two, so… Which of them is better for a beginner?

I don’t recall anyone here posting about the V3 X-over so you might not get a direct answer based on hands on experience.

It looks like Gong just evolved the foil shape and changed the fuse on V3 so likely not a lot of difference between the two that a beginner would notice.

Up to you if you want to spend extra $ for newest version based on how Gong describes what they changed.:grinning:

I find one video about x-over V2 vs V3 , of course i understand that they can’t say to us , “we just put there another number” )

if we believe the guy in the video, V3 x-over clearly has advantages )

@kir the main advantage for the v2 is that you get nearly every adapter and mount you need here in the forum already designed and tested for efoil and foil drive.

Up to each to decide who to believe but the guy in the video has had “some” experience

So, this is X-Over V3 wings

X-Over V2

I planned to buy size XL of V2 - 1656 cm2
But now if I choose V3 XL, it is only 1410 cm2, is it ok, or should I choose size XXL with 1747 cm2? I found some information in this community that above 1500cm2 , it is not a good idea…

Take the smaler one, you will have fun with it for a longer time, it is still large enough.

The new wings are smaller but they have the lift producing shape throughout the full length of the wing so they are supposed to produce as much lift and be equivalent in size but smaller and more fun. At least that’s the theory but I haven’t tried.

I suggest you order a flite propeller. It works really well and not expensive at all.

Yes I have seen a lot of positive feedback about this propeller but it seems that Flite does not ship to Asia, I have written to their support but have not received a response yet…

Has anyone had experience using such lids? A friend told me that i can use it on an efoil, but it seems to me that there will be leaks )

It is only good for splash protection, no where near to be waterproof.

Also, waterproof the screen on your VX3 when it arrives.

Go to the Fliteboard website and choose locations. They have a lot of them and maybe one close enough to you

Don‘t use it, it will leak. Either build your own lid or use a round hatch, like osculati 206mm. There are basically two designs, round hatches with split packs, waterproof battery compartment. Large lid, not always 100% waterproof, 1 big battery with built in BMS, waterproofed battery and vesc.
I suggest to spend some time studying succesful builds from this forum.

Hello!
I couldn’t find any information about the leaking screen on the VX3. Have you had this problem?

Search for “VX3 maintenance”, first thread that comes up discusses a few issues like this

Two of mine remotes died withing the first month due to condensation buildup, the third one I filled with resin and haven’t had a problem since
