The connectors are 2+2 designed for 2 power and 2 signal. I’m not interested in reusing it, rather replace with a more suitable 3 pole. It’s not hard to find a bunch, it would just be handy if they were the exact same size as the originals base plate.

Do you plan to cut a hole for the heat sink or use passive cooling?
It can fit 2x 7S2P 21700 cell packs next to each other. I showed pictures of 12S2P in the updated original post.

What about a heatsink? Duotone has any? I think this is a crucial part and I cannot understand why Duotone and even Foildash doesn’t take care about?

I’m going to add an alu heatsink under the box. Once disassembled there’s a perfect sized hole to get all the fets onto an external heatsink.
Duotone runs their ESC at the motor so its full cooled.
Foil dash have quite a lot of space in their enclosure so its pretty easy to fit it all in. I have seen videos of 45m efoiling with their unit and it seem to be o with that.

I’m building a unit for my mate using a ip68 rated box that will be bolted to a kite harness or in camel pack but the box is heavy 2kg alone. Will fit 12s 3p or 4p.
I’m using flipsky 150amp waterproof vesc
Great idea. Im currently looking at a new Pelican 1170 i bought and thinking maybe you have the right approach.
Weight seems OK, my diys Carbon sandwhich box that holds a small vesc, reciever and a 12S3P 21700 battery weights 880g including an aluminium heat sink laminated into the bottom.

Don’t be afraid to think outside the box–literally. I had a hard time finding a comfortable box that fit my battery. And they usually have a lot of sealing surface just waiting to leak. This system has been working great for me. Rocket Man.
