Hi Jezza,
Any chance you could provide me with the max width accepted by the Duotone eharness? Wondering if I could use a 170mm wide Camdenboss to accommodate for a 14S3P setup…
150-155mm but you could cut it if you wanted.
Great thanks !

Seems like a stupid question but what’s the sizing like on that DT Harness?
Thoughts on keeping the ESC further away from the batts? thinking of putting the ESC in the board and harness for batts only
What would be the benefits??
You’d need long battery cables with high section (8/10AWG mini)…
Where would you put the Rx?
10awg cables, only 2core so smaller/lighter than 3… and only length needed to the board, not the motor.
Not too convinced myself, outweighing options since other brands have gone this route.
inside the board, ESC and RX together
Sizes: * S – M (WAIST MEASUREMENTS: 71 – 89 CM / 28" – 35") * L – XXL (WAIST MEASUREMENTS: 89 – 114 CM / 35" – 45")
@Jezza Hi, i meant is the sizing accurate for your waist size? So, im a 34 waist but at the line between the two size options… after you tried it on would you say the sizing is accurate bearing in mind it needs to accommodate a wetsuit.
Cheers.
K
I am also 34" and got the large… i reckon i should have got the smaller one as it only just goes small enough
I am a 36 and got the XL. It fits nicely and can also go over a impact vest if I need it to.
Are those Weipu SA28 connectors suitable for phase wires - I just read the spec and they are only rated at 50A?
I couldn’t find anything rated higher that was lockable - other than QS8T (110A) and QS6T (60A) Amass connectors - which are inline with locks… and I guess possible to make waterproof.
And there are the M25 a cheaper plastic version of the Weipu’s by the look of it - but still only 50A.
Do you know the weight of the Duotone belt? (Without the box)
I am also wondering about what is better - shorter phase wires or shorter battery cables? The flipsky waterproof vesc comes with long battery cables - long enough that I could reach the board safely I think with a waist mounted battery box. But I believe I’ve read that the battery cables should be kept as short as possible and it’s the phase wires that should be long. It seems the duotone and manta waist setups do long battery connectors though. Thoughts? Andrew just posted https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAJIRnC8J7Y on his foil assist backpack setup and looks like he went for long phase wires instead - must have clipped the battery cables. Not sure if he did this to make sure the vesc was mounted securely to the box or if it was purposely for shorter battery cables and longer phase.
Yes keep battery wires short, phase wires can be long. You can compensate long battery wires with capacitors near the FETs on the ESC. Short wires is the better option.
