You want the weight above the front wing, which is usually forward of the mast by quite a bit, so the battery should also be placed there
Ah sorry now I understood, 1 battery pack front, one aftā¦
If possible I would place both front, with the center between the packs above the center of lift (close to the front wing)
But yeah if thatās not possible one behind may make more senseā¦

You go watch any beginners whats there main problem nose diving. Take the shape compare to majority offshore boats its pretty identical and if they canāt plain that would be strange lol. I think it saves a lot of time, money, and trouble to listen to the collective intelligence of this forum. Why make the same mistakes that other people already made years ago?
Of course, thinking outside the box and being open to new ideas can lead to innovative products. But there are designs that have proven to work, and others that have already failed.
For your battery, Iād suggest making it modular so you can use either one 2 kWh battery or two. Your setup will get really heavyāitās no fun carrying 40 kg to the shore. About 30 kg is my limit, and I wish my setup weighed only 25 kg.

Look lad I clearly donāt now everything otherwise I wouldnt be here! 10 years of efoil intelligence is not alot compared to how many thousands years of boating intelligence. Just posting my plans you want to bash be prepared to be bashed back its that simple. The biggest problem is here is people not reading before posting for example if you read somewhere above I have already had the modular idea! On the first occasion of bumping heads here same again not reading and jumping to conclusions. I will pick and choose the advice I want not going to jump off a cliff cause 3 people say so. As for you wanting a lighter board you know what they say grab a teaspoon of cement mix in your tea and harden up lol

You lot clearly forgot the history of the hydrofoil and tell me how many are flat bottom hulls you ever been on one of the old soviet hydrofoils if you havenāt you should really cool

You see the problem is you just donāt know the history and for some weird reason arenāt prepared to listen when others try to give advice. Instead you get all pissy about people not seeing things your way.
17 years ago a group of students built what you are proposing:
It was unstable and rode like SH1T. But the overall concept was very clever and then a company called Lift bought the patents. Then they redesigned the boards in an intelligent manner and it was their first video that sparked various peoples imagination and collaboration and eventually this forum was born where we are today.
The very same company that design the unstable V shape now designs autonomous versions and guess what bottoms they haveā¦flat
This is pretty simple, flat releases better and faster off the water surface and is 1000x easier to recover nosedives with because it doesnāt pierce water like a V.
The other issue with high sides on the nose is that you are hugely affected by crosswind and headwind. A slim profile eliminates this.
All the guys I know that started out from nothing rode big beginner boards 2-3 times before getting on smaller boards and never going back.
Now onto the only modern design that kind of meets the path you are going down. You get the Hydroflyer (I completely forgot about it because I had a friend try it and he told me he was bored after 5 mins). But this is big and requires scooter-like handlebars. Its so heavy you need a trolley to carry it, but maybe that suits you and what you are after. It has a bit of a V in the front and is flat at the back:
Lad I have my reason I have very bad back and knee injuries from waterskiing and kitesurfing accidents so I donāt want a high impact flat board that simple. Someone wants to strap a hydrofoil to a giraffe who are any of us to tell them not to do it! The forcefully attitude the flat heeds are pull is outline and you need to step off and let people do as they please. Just because others screwed it up before donāt mean I canāt pull it off. If you ask for advice and dismiss all of it, then just carry in the back ground, back your own ideas and show us your results once the project is complete.

No one screwed it up, they just realised there were better designs and pivoted.
In all honesty though, if you have a bad back and knee injuries, then build a copy of the hydroflyer as the handlebars will be a massive help to you.
