Efoil on low volume board

Has anyone successfully made an efoil with a low volume board?

I am planning a build using my F-one pocket 145, 11liter board with a pelicase 1450 on the front. Battery is 14s7p 50s, Spintend 240A vesc and flipsky 65161 with Fite prop.

Plan B is making a board from scratch using foam, glass and epoxy.

Is it worth a try using the f-one or is it just stupid. My theory is that as long as I start laying down and get some speed the volume is not that big of a deal.

Hi,
I was planning on using the same board as I use it for Kitefoil… but was advised against it…
Now using an inflatable Gong 110l…

I have also been advised against it. Almost makes me wanna try it more :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The pelicase alone will have enough volume to support the extra weight so it wont sink at least😅

11 liters sounds so small. I guess as long as it doesn’t sink on its own maybe it can work. It would certainly be challenging to get up on and that something you won’t be able to test until it’s completed.

This is one of the smallest Efoils I’ve seen here

Check this one:

I had the chance to ride it once
Really fun, but challenging to start
As it does not support any body weight your body basically becomes the board until the wing generates lift

It might make more sense to build a FoilDrive gen2 like unit and put it under a small board. Not exactly for eFoil, but smaller and lighter, can be used on different size boards. Could aslo be used with FD position high on mast or eFoil position low on mast. 12S, 2-3P.
