You can measure the voltage of the sensor feed and signal with a multimeter to check the status. Don’t know what the remote sensor uses but 5V is the common logic voltage. (@Felixfoiler would know the normal range)
should then be about 5V between feed and ground and 4.5V or so between signal and ground at max throttle, but that can vary, depends on the hall sensor characteristics.
