I just bought the high active relay and will test it
I tested the new switch but still not working. Seems like there is only 0.5v coming from the board (but testing the voltage on the board itself it shows 3.25v and on de waterpump (other side of the relay) I am getting the 12 volts I need to run the pump.
Could it be the board is not functioning correct?
Hi,
On our test setup it is working like intended, with the same receiver and software.
Are both (remote and receiver) on the new 2.6 version? Please validate with the fero app.
Did you go into settings, turn the dedicated port on, then go out of the settings and arm the remote? After the remote makes connection again it transfers the Infos on which port to turn on/off.
Best regards
Team FeRo
Both are on the latest version, and I am following that same process (settings, Port, io1, exit, arm). I believe it’s a voltage issue (board not giving enough voltage to the relay).
and what is the voltage output on your relay? Any help or information would be great.
Have you tried active the relay from a different 3.3v signal to confirm your relay works as expected?
I don’t have another 3.3v input I can use (that’s free). I have 4 relays and tried 2 with the same output voltage.
Take two AA batteries in series (3.2v) and see if they trigger the relay.
Maybe also show the wiring…
We had exactly the same problem as @diy_efoil_builders
The voltage dropped from 5 volt to 1.6 when connecting the relay board.
This is how we got it working.
Hi,
What price is it on the homepage. Is euro, us dollar or Canadian dollar? Is shipping done from eu?
$399
I think it should be in USD, but for the info, I know Felix is from Austia and he probably ships it from there… correct me if you have better info
Yeah, I know he is from Austria and it used to be in euro before.
But now it is unclear and the company seems located in Canada, that is the reason for the question
Anyone have experience with this isue? Remote won’t switch on without any reason. Few moments before it was working. When I disambled it on bottom of board it’s only two red light after switching on but nothing on display… It’s the same after discinecting power connector from battery.
… I got answer from felix; unfortunately the chip is probably dead :* he offered to send new board for some cost and as he said now new board have better display and gps inside remote…
Good that’s there is a solution with out replacing the entire remote.
Which component failed? The esp32? Or something else? You could replace the components on the board if you feel like a challenge.
Old thread, but I really hope someone here might know what could be causing this issue. (I did email Felix about this issue too)
Yesterday was the 1st day of the season on the eFoil again.
After setting everything up, I noticed that the efoil did not give enough power. Looking at the FeRo’s display it would only go up till about 35% full throttle (yes it was in mode 8).
I have tried the calibration several times, but all the time ik keeps saying “give more throttle”.
I guess that the hall sensor is somewhat off.
Anyone here who might know how to debug this, or what hall sensor is used?
Probably a corrosion issue, either the connections to the hall sensor is corroded, causing voltage drop, or the magnet is corroded and losing it’s magnetism.
I guess I could try to exchange the triggers for testing.
Just exchange the trigger with the working FeRo but still same issue.
So I guess that the hall sensor is off.
Let’s hope Felix will reply soon.
