Try connect another battery and see if it comes to life.
Water can get under that display through the side. Thats where I have seen multiple fail.
So I checked battery current. Upon turning on current goes to 600ma. While still holding the button, it is at 800ma.
So clearly there is a short somewhere.
I cut 3 suspicious wires to the display, but nothing changed.
There is really nothing I can do anymore other than cut all the wires to the display and see if it works…
If there’s a short something will be getting hot.
Right… Thanks, Ok then, I checked, part of that large main epoxied part gets hot like 45c. But then it cannot be repaired. So don’t know how but water got inside there probably. Or they fail prematurely intentionally
Could be a blown regulator which would explain why the whole thing doesnt turn on

Turns out one of my remotes does not have a broken screen. It flashes the logo when starting up, but then goes white instead of the normal screen. Functionality is still fine.
Could I hard reset it? I don’t want to lose the config in case I never get the screen on again as it is working perfectly fine other than the screen issue.
Sounds like the same issues I have with one of mine it’s intermittent sometime it works fine sometimes the screen goes white but it still works. A good whack usually fixes it for a while whack it hard enough to shake things but not enough to break it. It’s likely an intermittent contact on the display. Maybe there’s a way to fix it. I haven’t opened that one yet, I just bought another one.

So, mine just started to act up too (VX3 pro).
Of course when it is the most inconvenient, starting of vacation. 
Yesterday it just turned off on the water for no reason and would not turn on again.
So I rinsed it, dried it and tried again. Did not turn on.
Put it on charger and it went into charging, but without display. Still would not turn on.
Put it into a bag with rice overnight and tried charging again this morning and after a while the display came back on.
Now it is working just fine.
So I suspect there is some water getting somewhere it should not.
Has anyone got some ideas that would make this remote survive being used for a few weeks?
Maybe open it up and fill everything with marine grease?

We’ve tested many remotes, and the Flipsky VX3 offers a pretty good user experience. However, I’ve also experienced some water ingress — it’s still working for now. You might want to contact their customer support and check with them.
Yes, I am pretty happy with the way the remote was working.
And I already contacted them. Will be interesting to find out how the customer service is playing out.
But however that goes, it really does not solve my current problem of needing a working remote right now.
For your vacation maybe worth getting some desiccant packets and try and dry it out after each session.
With the remote completely dry, I would buy a bottle of mineral oil and submerge the remote m in that for a while. The oil should find its way into any crevices and offer some protection.

I actually opened it up yesterday and it really looks well made from the inside. There is no visual clue about what could be the problem.
I will try to get my hands on some mineral oil.
Customer service reply was pretty quick but also useless.
They will not do anything about it, as I did not buy directly from them. Which is not unreasonable.
I will have to contact the vendor (Banggood).
Also OK with me.
But for their “internal after sales service” they want me to make a video of the problem, that is a video of the remote not turning on.
That is so pointless, I have to ask myself, if the people in CS even know what their products do.
I just went to the Flipsky factory yesterday and reported this issue to their engineers, including the video of my own remote.
The explanation from their engineers was vague, but in the later VX5 series products, this issue has been completely eliminated and performance has improved significantly. However, the price is somewhat high.

They sort of claim it to “now” be “fully waterproof” every iteration.
For me more of the same, new day, new issue.
Now the remote is not charging anymore.
When put on the charger, the blue light just starts to pulse rapidly, instead of slow pulses while charging.
Has anyone got an idea, what that error code is supposed to say?
Or what the issue in inductive charging could be?
It is somewhat sad, how they do not even provide a basic manual explaining stuff like that.

Lol. I saw the post here and was afraid it could happen, but hoped the majority of remotes was fine. Now it hit me.I used it maybe 20 times. Only in freshwater for about an hour.
It was still working when I turned it off.
I Drilles 2 holes in it and flushed it with 99.9% isopropanol. Next challenge is to get the isopropanol out.
Of course it happens 4 days before my holiday.
Let’s see how flipsky reacts to my email.
