I have used the maytech today. For the first time. After the black spot’s appeared on the screen (after epoxying the screen).
I do find the trigger much nicer on the maytech. It’s way easier to apply gentle throttle and it also feels smoother, when you turn down the throttle.
I would appreciate it if anyone in this topic that hasn’t already posted please make one in this new topic.

According to the Foil Drive users FB page, and my experiences, the spring is prone to breaking, although there is a new thicker spring that is supposed to be better.
While waiting for the spring, I used a thick cable tie looped inside and never replaced the spring for the time I used it before my new build with the Flipsky remote.
The cable tie feels really nice, but after a big wipe out it doesn’t sit right and the remote needs a bit of a tap to get it right. Another guy put some foam in there as well to hold the cable tie in place.

Hello foil people! does it make any sense to you “painting” the sealing and screen border with epoxy resin to improve waterproofing? I have this VX3 controller and I’m trying to make his life a little longer

I doubt it.
Might also just do the opposite, as you are preventing any water within from evaporating.
If you completely take it apart and properly seal the display, that might help.

You absolutely must open it and stick on the screen protector. VX3 is bullshit

So I revived mine ( It did not charge anymore ).
Opened it up, cut the wires, created a T connection with the extra cables going to the outside of the remote.
Now I have + and - on the outside and directly charge with a RC charger.
Works great so far, always hated that inductive charging thing.
Now it charges 4x as fast and does not heat up (it used to get very hot during charging, I personally think many of its problems are a result of that heat).
So now I have a nice Frankenremote as a backup.
Would not do it to a working one, but if someone has trouble charging, that could be a solution.
My stopped to charge too. I bought a cheap usb-c charging board, 3d printed a waterproof container for it and now it works again!

Update on this, the one that was submerged for a few weeks I left in pool of Corrosion X for the winter and now it seems to work again, while the other that I haven’t done that to is still functioning but white screen.
I would suggest doing Corrosion X treatment from the start on these as the quality is pretty low
For the one that works, protect it by drilling 2 holes in the screen casing and injecting some UV resin. This so entire screen is potted.

Had the same issue on my Vx3 Pro, screen went blank and unreadable. I drilled 2 holes and dropped it in a filament dryer, 40°C for 48hrs
Then injected some Araldite 2011… all seems fine now 
Here’s my experience:
Had my first vx3 since december 2024. Full salt water usage. It worked allright, then stopped working couple months ago (display blackout then died). Then myself and two other friends bought one new vx3 each. ALL of them died in a couple of weeks.
As everyone here already noticed, the weakest point is the screen enclosure not potted, so the display is the first one to suffer the salt water damage.
Instead of buying a new remote everytime, Me and the guys decided to buy a batch of screens on alibaba and replace it ourselves. Doable, but a pain in the ass and you can easily break the connectors of the screen controler if not done carefully.
Will give a break on this vx3 shite. I cant even read the display while I’m riding, so a screen in my case, become useless. Here’s what I’m using now on my next build. It costs peanuts and does the job.
Just checking. Did you guys get the VX3 or the VX3 Pro? There’s a small difference.
We all got the vx3 ‘amateur’ (non pro version)

The Flipsky VX3 was one of the few available options for efoil remote for a variety of reasons.
They have an evolved product - VX5 that you might consider.
Quite a few in use without any reported problems. Great that people have found solutions to extend the life of the VX3 but don’t understand why anyone would buy one new now.
