Depends on your prop and what you want. Do you want low speed torque and lower top end speed or the opposite etc.
Thanks for asking.
FD props as a reference.
I want efficiency in all phases and all the applicable foil-assist usage conditions - various foil sizes, board sizes and body weight - in another words to maximize motor time.
What is the Ali 6384? I only found Flipsky 6384 motors on Aliexpress. Is it the same?
Flipsky is also available on AliExpress, but the common motor for foil assist is a 120KV model priced at $50.
By the way, this is the cheapest price Iāve found:
Oh, I see. I thought you were talking about a waterproof outrunner model.
Hi, I have the Flipsky waterproof 6384 and I have a FD three blade propeller. As the holes in the FD propeller are 16mm apart, it is not possible to screw the prop to the motor. Are there any solutions like printing out an adapter disc or something? I was thinking of drilling and tapping 4 holes in the Flipsky, but Iām not sure if I can drill the holes accurately enough. Thanks for Ideas and helpā¦
3d print a drill guide, should be accurate enough
Perfect! I do it like you said.
Thanks!
When using the foil assistant- is the small metal ring at the bottom of the waterproof Flipsky 6384 in place? I want to easily remove the outer shell of the motor (including the prop) to clean everything - but with the small metal ring I think it is a big hassle? Can I use the motor without this ring or is there a chance of losing the prop? Thanks for all the advices!
Remove it. The motor will stay together.
Even when in reverse?
Why would you reverse? Unless you mean like placing the motor in front of the mast? But I donāt know anyone doing itā¦
When I fall off my board into the water, if the board is backwards, I use the reverse to get the board back instead of swimming to it myself, especially if it is far away.
I like this reverse option, use it also with the flipsky remote.
Depends on the use case, many people use the shorter outrunners for assists with folding props, where reverse isnāt an option.
Hi guys
I bought one of those flipsky 6384, but have yet to test it.
but i drew an adaptator to put standard props for NoName Ali 6384, or a new prop to print directly for the flipsky. from volkerās one
cheers
Iāve also adapted @Strongarm Pod modified by @rttn for Axis Alu Mast to fit this Flipsky motor which has a flat base, but cables coming straight out, not perpendicular to the can. @StrongArm Mount > @RTTN for the Axis 19mm mast for Flipsky 6384 Waterproof Motor by seagullnz - Thingiverse
Iāve also designed a little wedge to use the Flipsky folding Prop with the Generic BDUAV 6384 Motor BDUAV 120kv Motor Flipsky Prop Void Fill by seagullnz - Thingiverse
While we are here, has anyone tried the Maytech Folding Props that pair with their waterproof 6384? They do a plastic and a stainless version. Maytech Waterproof 6374 Motor 80KV for Electric Foil Board SUP ā Maytech.cn--Maytech official website
Do you set the remote up for e skate so you can use the reverse. Sounds like a good idea. I have had a long swim following my board down wind in surf.
Heck yeah, I do! Just donāt forget to enable it in your ESC software.
