FlyTomaz - Second build

Does it work or is it moving too much?

3xM6. Rocksolid

20202020

I was still thinking to make it as a clamp and with minimal mast modification.
I guess that will be good enough.
Thx @Toto44 for feedback.

Run it for all summer. No problem.

Is the connection between motor and mast 3d printed or alu part?

@Seaman used this solution in 2021:

It’s actually the opposite, the pressure drop is a lot higher in a long, small diameter tube than in the mast channel.

One advantage of using tube all the way is that it’s easier and you don’t need to seal the mast top.

I used tube at the end. I just 3d printed the 90° connectors for it.

I’ve made my own antispark connectors on battery.

I took plastic end of plug and drilled the hole for resistor.
Soldered 8 Ohm resistor to copper plate and tin coated it.

Drilled into connector.

After some trimming and sanding it was DONE.

Great. Is that the 5.7 mm Amphenol?

No it is 8.0mm 50mm²

What is a better option to laminate:
Black is 4mm carbon plate
Green is xps
Yellow is glass fiber
Blue is finish diolen just for aperance.

I’m leaning towards 1st option but it is still time to decide.

If you use 2 glass layers, why not put one layer on each side of the cfk board? Better bond between xps and cfk board with glass in between. If you need to sand the surface, it is better to have glass on top to avoid damage of the cfk fibres.

There will always be some small imperfections to sand, therefore i also agree that the outermost layer on both sides should be glass fibre.

My reasoning is also:
Diolen is not good to sand, it will fray and destroy the surface.
Carbon sanding creates dirty black coal dust that goes everywhere.

Also sanding the carbon might create fisheyes if you plan to coat the board with clearcoat later on (epoxy coating will be fine though)

I’m planing to make it in that way:

I don’t care about visual aspect of the CF I will put diolen on the outside for visual only after outside surface is sanded.

So lower CF plate is inset, top one is on top of xps. I was thinking to put fiberglass on top of CF so the forces are distributed equally ztop and bottom.

I also like the option to put CF in between glass layers. Still open for suggestions.

Also thanks to @Larsb and @sat_be for your ideas.
