Found "waterjet" on makerworld for 65161

Hi,
I found this prop and duct for 65161 on Makerworld:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/1826480-ducted-fan-for-flipsky-65161-motor#profileId-1949989
Looks kind of like an “waterjet” design. I do not know the designer. Is the designer on this forum?

Have anyone tried it?

a standard 65161 (100…120KV) will never ever reach enough RPM’s to power a waterjet (you will need about 15000 or more RPM’s for this).
You will need a gearbox or a more KV motor (+/- 270KV with 15S)

As mentioned on the page itself it is a “Ducted Fan for Flipsky 65161 motor”
Basically a prop with a very tight duct around it.

Hi, thats me. It is something between Jet and ducted prop.

@Joka

Nice!

Did you print in any other material than ABS?

Have you tested it and do you have any data for it?

I printed it in ABS. I drove it only 1 time so far, no log. Stability gain is massive due to the duct. Should be possible to use smaller stab.

@Toto44

I have decided to try it in PLA-CF as I don’t have a venting setup for ABS. The props I’ve printed in this material are nice and stiff and have not failed (so far :grinning:)

Can you tell me what the dimension of the gap between end of impeller blade and inside of rear part should be. I had to mod the impeller part for a different pin size and don’t think I messed up outer diameter of the part but would like to be sure. My CAD skills leave a lot to be desired😜

I have the back printed and it fits the motor really nicely. :grinning:

Printing impeller now.

I attach a size comparison of Flite prop to the rear part.

That is exactly what the original Lift Jet drive is. Tiny 3 blade prop inside a duct with very tight gap between end of blades and inside of duct.

@Toto44 version looks more like what I envision when I think about an impeller.

Not questioning your knowledge on jet drive stuff. :wink:

Will be testing soon :slight_smile:

Can you show a photo of impeller inside duct that shows gap between blade and inside of duct please.

Can’t find this on Bambu site?

It;s 1mm

My misstake. PET-CF

Thanks for the dimension - that’s pretty tight which I think is the reason the Lift jet drive works.

I searched for PE not PET Duh :slight_smile: Thanks

In the app it’s called pe-cf.

@Foilguy @Kian hoping you can share a little performance data if you take this out. Im keen to give it a go too once I get my printer set up again.

@Toto44 thank you for posting this design.
@Alvestjo thank you for pointing it out!

Drying the filament now so I can print it asap.

Is it possible to add this to your Makerworld build then it’s easy for anyone to download?:grinning:

If not I will send you a PM with my email address to get a copy of the file.
