tay are visible from surface, you can se shapes under epoxy and carbon layer.
i dont think i would menage to get better picture becouse it is black .
I plan to use the cheapest 6384 motors, without epoxy treatment.
I think it makes no sense to lay out the propeller model, the thrust is much less than a standard propeller. Its only advantage is safety.
I have a rotor from the second motor. If you are interested, I can remove the film from the magnets and take a photo.
ohh.
thanks for the infoâŚ
Yes! That would be interesting to see, both magnet width, length, thickness, and if itâs got lamination steel.
Nice big magnetsâŚ
tahre is no gap betwean them, so strange
Still quickly done
So not an IPM but built for torque, no gaps means higher average flux but also higher eddy losses.
Do you have idea why would this motor benefit then from MTPA?
No, it shouldnât be a motor that has a large benefit of mtpa drive. Since it burned before it was obvious that the motor control was not good so maybe itâs just that it has the correct sync now - but then a correct FOC/duty cycle/BLDC control should give similar power and efficiency.
Time will tell, will it burn agin⌠I hope not.
Whatâs your motor phase current setting and kV?
And which propeller are you using?
I tryed form 120A to 160A befoar this new firmware motor burned eaven on 120A with this new stings work cool eaven on 180A.
Propeller is aluminum yamaha 5"
Thatâs not a lot of current, what kV?
5â pitch? What diameter?
It would be good to find your root cause since the mtpa should not be the only solution to the heating problem.
Yes 5" pitch diameter is 71/2".
On older firmwares i tryed allmost all i could think of and could not get it working properlyâŚ
I realy dont know why⌠When you would push trigger to accelerate motor would in som pont just stop producing more speed and if you holded trigger a little longer it would burn down⌠(ofc loaded when trying to get on foil, withoul load motor worked fine)
I
7 1/2â propeller is too big for this motor, this is based on that the thrust and power is related to diameter squared and the propellers that have been proven for efoils are around 150mm.
It might seem like a small difference but is then (7.5*25.4)^2/150^2=1.61 - so the motor is loaded 61% higher with the 7 1/2â prop.
Either you cut down the prop or switch to an EML prop, flite prop, FR prop, Manta or any of the proven 3D print ones on the forum.
My personal favourite is the flite prop, the edges are well rounded and therefore i never understood the need for a duct until i got an FR prop. That thing could probably chop a finger off (even though itâs working well).
I have tryed with 3d printed propellers from 145 to 155 mm in diameter
also and same thing hapend
And also how is now working good with that same propeller on new frimware
Thatâs impressive but it still loads the motor harder than needed and the risk of burning that or the ESC is increased
Yues am aware of that, smaller propeller would probably work better. Im planing to buy EML 3 blade and 2 blade soon.
What vesc are you running? Seems like the firmware in the flipsky vescs are incorrect from what iâve read on the eskate forum.
