Gong V2 mast filled with rubber

Hello,

First post here and I hope its not a duplicate, but I could not find the answer when searching.

I just got my Gong V2 mast (and wing and fuselage) and it seems like the two holes though the mast is filled with some kind of rubber/sealant in both ends. I havent had the time yet to see if it is only plugs in the ends or if it goes all the way though the mast.

Was everyones elses Gong V2 masts like this and if so how did you get rid of the rubber/sealant?

Best regards,
Jacob

Plugs/screwdriver or similar

@Jacob

Welcome :grinning:

The plugs on the top are easily removed by gripping with needle nose pliers and pulling out. The ones on the bottom can be left in to keep water from intruding. The holes in the side of the mast for motor wires can be made just slightly above where the bottom plug ends.

“slightly above” can be anything…
The position must corelate to the propeller size. Otherwise the propeller will cut your fuselage

Which is why I didn’t state a dimension! The position of that hole is determined by each builders requirements. Perhaps you were trying to be funny :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Jacob seems to be very new and unexpirienced. Thats why I tried to add some information to your post

Why would you make that assumption?

Perhaps new to building efoils, but I am a mechanical engineer who work with product development :slightly_smiling_face: I naturally appreciate all the help I can get though! Thanks!

Any chance you could measure something?

Hello,

Here are the measurments. Hope its what you need otherwise just tell me and I will get you new ones :slightly_smiling_face:

Should add that the claws of the caliper does not go in perfectly and instead at a slight slight angle when measuring the front to hole distance.

Thanks very much, that aligns with other info I have received, so I feel confident now.
