Gong V3 DIY Build

Hey,

all good after approximately 200 kilometers.

My latest setup is the V2 board, that is much smaller but keeps everything else the same.
I am really happy with the setup! The battery is the perfect size, 1h of ride time, no overheating, can sustain 20A fast charging between the rides and the internal battery temperature rises (while charging only) to 56 degrees but thats the max that ive seen.

I just tried the Fluid v3 XL and fluid L stab…maximising efficiency i land at around 50Wh/km and my record is 21km but without messing around i would easily do 24km total on one battery.

The foil setup is very agile, just what i wanted, fast switches and slalom rides + waves catching and messing around  im 92kg heavy without equipment.

But I have to say that with such a small board and small front wing + my weight it is hard to get on the board although its “easy” for me its definitely not the setup for a beginner. Then again, I always knew I would progress fast and starting with such a small setup was the right choice!

Overall not a single issue so far

Maybe worth noting is also that the weight of the whole setup is not that much around 23kg and i can carry it on my shoulders for 100m to the sea quite easily.

Here is the latest board and new foil setup. Im testing different propellers as well but thats not so important for me, they all work

Also thinking of selling the whole setup to make even smaller one.

Great info again! Thank you :+1:

I’ve only had one set of lessons so would start big. Ideally it would be great to easily move everything from one board to the next.

Here’s my rendition of that concept - relies heavily on the battery not letting water in! Battery is held in to the board by front locating pins and water is free to move around everything. What could possibly go wrong

Would work, my battery is also watertight but i just did not feel as comfortable doing that. I see now that the connectors are watertight so thats good and would work therefore.

That is how Pwrfoil does it.
