Went for my first real session with my new 14s12p 21700 battery pack using the Trampa 100/250VESC and Gong Rise large foil. I had so much power that I never used 100% throttle. My battery is also still 50% capacity after a 45minute ride. I was freezzing my nugguts…quite windy on the Atterseee! I hit max speed of 37kph which was awesome, I also wiped out and hit hard at 37kph, that was great! :call_me_hand:t4:

By far my longest overall distance traveled 22km. Not bad but I feel like I should be able to travel further. My amps seem high? Partial logging with the iLogger WavRX https://wavrx.com/. Nice thing about the @WavRX is everything is stored on a SD card and then uploaded later. I have a GPS module connected so no phone to carry!

Interesting view with the iLogger. But the temperature from your VESC seems to me to high?
So, the hole summer, some guys and me meet us often for efoiling.
So, you are invited to be with us.
We planing next time on the weekend. When you ( and some other in the Salzkammergut ) are interested

Greetings, Robert

@nice2cu Yes, I have noticed my temps are high too. When I was using the 75/300 my temps were a lot lower. My cooling setup is the same but maybe because of the larger battery the temps increased, Im not sure? Im going to tweek my setup today. Yes, I would be interested in meeting up this weekend.

I have similar problems with my V1.
I moved the 75/300 to my V2 build and bought a HGL 75/200. I use the same cooling method.
My much more lighter son riding the V1 and he have often the max temp problems. In the Winter I will try to fix the problem.

So, about our plan to meet. It is a problem for you to come to the Obertrummersee?

Did you change prop between this ride logging with WavRx and the one you posted 3 days ago with Metr.at or is this the GPS speed or speed calculated based on rpm ? There is a significant difference of max speed and cruising speed for the same given current.

@Manufoil I’m using the same prop the Metr app is using gps speed and I believe the Wavrx is using prop diameter and rpm, a few times a came out of the water and the prop rpm ramps up before going into the water again. I wish i could hit 50 :call_me_hand:t4:

Yeah kinda a bummer on the waverx right now for that. Hard to get good stats on an efoil without GPS speed.

Also what did you do around that island? The wavrx shows 0 duty cycle and current and you were still moving along on the map?

Im not sure what is going on there. It looks like the signal just stopped? Im using CAN for the data. Have you had any similar issues?

Yes, I agree it would be nice to have GPS speed. I am able to see my GPS speed on my watch data and on my remote, but it would be nice to compile all the data together. How accurate is your speed calculated? Beside the prop overspeeding when I come out of the water It looks like my speeds are about 5kph high.

I was able to get my hands on a FERO remote @Felixfoiler felixremote.com. When the opportunity came up I decided to get the GPS version and It wasn’t cheap €280. Wow! Right!

So what did I get? Out of the box it is completely waterproof, great ergonomic design, bright screen, easy to set up and very good instructions. I hooked it up to PPM the first ride and it had great reception. Great reception!! No extension for the antennae. I plugged it in, calibrated it and it worked perfectly!

The receiver is the most professional I have seen yet.

With the GPS the speed was clearly visible on the remote. I am using a @WavRX WavRX that has a CAN connection and input from a GPS. Since the FeRo receiver has a a built in GPS and two small TX and RX pads. I attached the yellow and black wires from my GPS input on the WavRX to the outputs on the FeRo receiver. Im logging my rides without carrying my phone and it works great.

Nice setup, the GPS idea is clever :slightly_smiling_face: If you get the chance to upgrade to the new firmware it would be interesting to see how it performs. Note that the old logging format is now obsolete, if you have any logs that are important back it up.
