Leading Edge Inflatable parawings based on the F-One K-Wing concept (...)

This is the K-wing concept by F-one. They didn’t patent it so I hope other manufacturers will follow as it is much easier to learn than parawing and should appeal to kite.surfers.foilers… a possible transition to parawinging.

On the 2025 labor day, F-One unveiled an inflatable parawing concept: the K-WING with a first model called the Plume, a concept mixing a small (3-5m2) strutless kitesurfing kite with short (1.3-1.5m) paraskiflex-like bridles (but different see below), available in June 2025:

First test of a Plume prototype, lesser low end but according to the comments, the final product has much better low-end power, improved bridle, and bigger sizes

The k-wing concept is to parawings what foil kites are to leading edge inflatables (LEIs)
Pros:

  • more school friendly than parawings,
  • doesn’t stick to water,
  • supported leading edge (LE) = thinner LE = less bridle = less bridle tangling,
  • huge wind range (20 knots according to designer)
  • can be DiYed,

Cons:

  • packing = deflation, small volume LE = a (hand) pump,
  • wing tips = more projected surface = less pulll per sqm = lesser low end

Possible Improvements:

  • if packing is needed, aluminium or fiber glass split leading edge (tent split pole, …)
    Tent

  • lighter fabrics,

  • surface efficiency = smaller wing tips = longer C rear lines (lower handling ?)
