good deal mine cost 4k usd with extra battery used
no tax or delivery fees
like to sell it and get a better one was fun for what it was
one battery will only charge to 85%
you have any idea how to fix the battery’s on it?
ever take it apart big heavry case?
guessing at least one cell inside has gone bad
cheers
What don’t you like about the hisun board? What improvements are you looking for with your DIY board?
Everything that Hisun does not
Light weight, power, speed, throttle remote etc…
My Hisun board was great to begin and 4k€ in early 2019 was ok to do efoiling. Now, for a little bit more you could have better choices.
You can easily upgrade your board with 48v battery and or new controller/remote. Even removing the prop guard will make it faster than most people want to go. That motor is a beast and can handle some serious amps, much more than the flip sky.
Weight is an issue though. I had a local shaper look at building me a new board. Was quoted around $2k. He also mentioned how over built the existing board was, but said you wouldn’t want a new foam board in the sun, needs to be bagged, don’t keep it in temps higher than 100. He wouldn’t recommend strapping it to the roof, dings and compression spots will be an issue and I’d probably only get a year or two of use out of it if I took great care of it. Decided probably not worth it for me. Maybe a full carbon or something like the waydoo board would be better.
I would need advices.
My Hisun board need modifications to fit 18650 14s14p battery pack. I have to increase hatch depth by 2cm at least on a square surface for battery pack only. Hatch is made of ABS plastic or something similar.
Any recommandation?
Didn’t you sell it early last spring ?
Correct but I have a brand new 5"5 Hisun naked board which is part of my new build.
I’m planning to cut hatch bottom but i still have a doubt about the tool to use and next laminating material (probably carbon).
Any suggestion?
How deep is the existing hatch?
Only 5.5cm. 2cm more should be enough.
That’s really shallow. If it’s ABS it will be quite tricky to make it deeper with anything other than ABS.
Maybe ask them what material was used so that you can really do it well.
Looks like a difficult challenge for a 14s14p with vertical cells taking into account your 5.5cm box depth. However, you could use four packs of 3 horizontal cell layers…
With five 18mm diam disks in a rectangular pattern, my maths tell me that under 55mm, if your cells lie horizontally, you can store 4 blocks of 14s3p having a thickness of 49.2mm = 14s12p
The battery min width would be 4 x 68mm long so roughly 272mm. To minimise heat therefore your battery current you could accept 15s12p (63V max).
Not optimal for cell cooling but the best solution to minimise board rework.
What did make you order a last generation Hisun board ? Any picts ? A price ?
Another solution :
5.5cm , see my post « slow built from France » you can fit 3 cells and z configuration deep ( 6s pack folded in the middle )
So not cutting ( which could compromised the board structure )
Deep wise it fits , Check wide and length … harder to built , may be easier than cutting
6s 12p fits nicely in maxxgrip3 case
I’ve ordered it to upgrade my previous Hisun efoil but pandemic delayed shipment to 6 months. Then i keep it for my 2021 efoil. Hisun’s charged me 880$ EXW. It comes with magnet switch, 36 or 48V battery level screen, handles and boardbag.
Got answer from manufacturer => that’s carbon fiber !! so i keep working on a dual 7s14p as I’m looking for a reliable build. I like the idea of external BMS then I can’t exceed 8s. Moreover, FlyingRodeo strongly recommended the 14s14p to run their beast
You could get a 14S12P battery into that hatch without any mods. That’s what I would do…
It all depends on who you let through the front door. Hahaha
But nice choice in motor. You won’t regret that!
Which wing you going to use?
I start with Curve L and i may try XL-T too.
Which engine is it? You wash buy already assemble like this?
