Need help with ordering correct core parts in 2025 that will last

Hi all,
I just discovered this amazing forum and have been reading through tons of posts. I was initially deciding between Maytech and Flipsky kits, but after digging deeper here, I realized:
1. Maytech components often fail or cause problems.
2. There are many better alternatives (e.g. Saite and others) I hadn’t heard of before.

I’m planning to build a foil assist setup and would appreciate any up-to-date guidance on what parts to buy. Looking for recommendations on core parts like:
* Waterproof motor (6384 or similar to Foil Drive Gen2 High power)
* ESC
* Remote (Maytech or Flipsky)
* Battery (I was originally planning to use 2x Tattu 16000mAh 22.2V 15C for ~700Wh, but open to suggestions)

If anyone has blueprints or a kit they can share, I wouldn’t mind showing some financial gratitude for your help.

Also, I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have used the 6384 motor from specific manufacturers—how long have they lasted for you?

Thanks in advance to anyone who shares insights or links!

This is close to the latest suggestion from my reading of the forum in terms of reliable and cheap

.DIY faux Drive Assist (12S setup)

I don’t know that would have a cost saving’s but you could definitely get a space savings if you went with a high powered li -ion pack. Something with p45b/p50b or some other high output equivalent. Even if it wouldn’t be cheaper it wouldn’t be as volatile as lipo. Still not at safe as lifepo but I don’t think anyone wants that kind of range penalty on an efoil.

Thank you, Khaos I will look into it later this afternoon :pray:

That’s indeed good advice thank you Khaos.

I see most of the available options online point to the direction of assembling the battery on my own (most of the battery packs I see are LiPo). For starter, would you maybe recommend a place where its possible to order an already assembled battery to achieve 40-45V with at least 400wH capacity?

Maybe this will work for you

That’s amazing, thank you very much. I am currently West EU based, after reaching a bit there quite some people that offer battery building services, so for the first build will seriously consider rebuilt packs <3
