New 200A Vesc based Flipsky ESC

Did anyone try this vesc on 14s?

12s for most vesc, more : trampa 75/300, a200s

No spikes over 60v , if you have 14s just charge them to 4.0v if possible
Never recorded spikes on my trampa

I’m assuming you feel the same way about the seal 300a ESC by maytech/flipsky? Would be risky to run it on 14s?

The seal 300a is designed for 14s. They mention max 75v spikes on their alibaba page. That’s for the reacher tech.

Interesting! On maytech and flipsky they rate it at 60v maximum! Which is pretty close to the max voltage of a 14s pack!

Might be a nominal voltage? I trust the guys from reacher tech so I’m going to run mine on 14s.

That’s good! Do you know anyone who ran it on 14s before?

No, not yet. That wasn’t a consideration for me.
I’ve opened it up to have a look, and was quite surprised with the quality compared to the flier escs I’ve been using. I’m sure the seal 300a will be fine on 14s.
I’ll let you know if it blows up.

Haha alright thanks! But let me know if it doesn’t blow up as well! I’m curious to see how it will perform!

I have tried both Maytech 200A MTSESC 6.6 based on VESC and original Trampa Vesc6+ on 14s. Maytech on efoil, but only for half a minute because I got water inside esc enclosure and fire. I had metr and in that half minute temperature jumped from 40 to 60 degrees C. In efoil, you can turn off brake in vesc settings, so there should be no voltage spikes over 60V.
Original Trampa Vesc6+ on esk8 on 14s, with brakes. granted, battery was charged to 55V only, but it was ridden for few hours and not a single problem.
I will try this Flipsky 200A ESC on 13s or 14s. reps from Flipsky said 12s is max, but I will try it anyway. Water cooling should help here.

Hey Tin, did you eventually find time to test the Flipsky 200A ESC on 13s or 14s despite Flipsky’s warning at 12s Max ?

Hey guys, ive the flipsky Vesa 200A. Only have a work laptop so cant install any software (yet, waiting for work to free it but it could be a while) but I see it has bluetooth. Is it programmable via bluetooth? And does any one know which app to use or a link? Im android

You don’t have to install anything. Just open the zip file and start the application.

Didnt even plug it into PC as thought there was no point! Ill take a look thanks. Bluetooth app would be handy tho.do you know if there is one?

AFAIK only the original VESC+, VESC MK3 and VESC75/300 have build in BT. Others need an external module. Then you can use e.g. the VESC-Tool app (only Android).

@giga, does the esc need powered on before you connect it to the laptop or will the usb outlet on the laptop be enough? I plugged it in and nothing showed on the laptop but i didnt have the battery connected to the vesc

There is a solder jumper to have USB powering the VESC (see R1 on the top of the first page of the schematics here).
Usually this jumper is not set because you don’t want the VESC voltage regulator to mess around with the USB voltage regulator in your pc. Also it doesn’t make much sense to connect the VESC alone, without battery and motor.
So yes, this is normal.
Connect any power supply (any battery, old laptop charger, old hard drive power supply, charger etc…be creative) with >=10V and you can set it up.
Tho, for the FOC motor params I really recommend you to use the final electrical setup (Battery, connectors, cable lengths etc.) otherwise your motor maybe won’t start smoothly later, in your final setup (because e.g. different cable lengths change the resistance and inductance the motor setup, so if you teach the ESC the wrong values from your test setup, it wont run properly in your final setup, or at least you got to do it again).

What pipe and pump do you use to cool your FSESC?

Im after picking up a 3.3 or 5v pump but my hose only has single ends. The FSESC takes 2 inputs and 2 outputs. So do I need 2 pumps or Is there a dual ended tube or how have you done it?

All Pipes are Connect to each other. You can just bridge two by a small tube and use the opposite ones for in and outcome. I was even thinking about to seal two of them with a screw. I know already two case where the has been water leakage; I fixed this with Teflon tape. For the pump I used 12v one:

no, it’s winter here in Europe so I will have to wait a little bit more. not just that, I am expecting few new VESCs on the market this spring, up to 16s. that should be perfect for efoil.
