Hey guys - this is a long thread, so forgive me if this has already been asked. Looking at this Maytech bundle on Alibaba. Thoughts? What would be the difference between the 100kv, 120kv, and 140kv motors? Thanks!
Hey guys. I got an update from Flier and Flipsky about the compatibility issue with the red 400A Flier boat ESC.
Attached is screen shots of my emails with Flipsky and Flier (Cathy).
They said they are still working on the problem but they have created a new firmware. I don’t have my motor yet. Can someone with this ESC please update their firmware to the new firmware “B_Uart_lowkvmotor” and test it?
I am teaching myself fusion360. I have a slingshot mast. I will try to make something. But, don’t hold your breath. This software is slow going.
I suggest more of us learn this software. It is free for non commercial hobbyists and enthusiast’s. Then we can make and modify our own files and share them like @pacificmeister did when he started this forum.
I maintain hope that plenty of files will be available in the near future. I know I plan to share what I make.
I wouldn’t go the maytech route. You can individually buy the components cheaper and there are better components. My biggest issue with the maytech bundle is the motor shaft and prop have been done badly. They should not be using that prop and because the shaft is cut specifically for it, it will limit what you can use.
If you print it as is, the motor cables will not run through it. But if you print it at 10% infill you can get an idea of how it all goes together and then measure where and how you need to route the cables.
I have the same set up as you but I can’t get the motor working. There is a single beep and then a 2 sec pause…then a beep again…this continues unless I plug the program card in…then it stops. The remote looks like it connected. If I shut the remote off the board flashes and when I turn it on the red light stays solid. There is 46V at the pack and 46V going into the ESC. The 5V UBEC is also working fine. There really isn’t much to do…any ideas?
A short update…the 120kv version doesn’t have the torque to spin my higher pitched prop that my geared drive uses. The motors have the same power ratings but the torque just isn’t there on the direct drive.
Time to try a lower pitched prop.
I’ll upload logs a bit later…
