I had my first outing on my backpack mount yesterday. It went better than I was expecting. I need to do a whole load more tests in a variety of conditions but you can see a clip here and I’ve written some ramblings in the video description of my findings compared to my other builds.
Great build congrats! What cable are using in this build, is it lapp 400p?
Thanks. Yes - the 400p cable. I coiled the top part myself with a hot air blower and a wooden pole.
Thank you for sharing will give it a try next week (once it arrives) ![]()
Using the same belt as you for quite many years, great product I am not quite sure what are you using as a main leash.
My plan is to use Leashes - Foil Leash Lite - Manera - EN (90cm version that stretches to 150cm, I’ve removed the shock cord from the strap) hopefully wrap the rest into neoprene sleeve.
That leash looks good. A friend made mine. It’s just some strong dyneema with elastic added. It stretches to 5ft.
That’s great, I think then they are very similar, the Manera one is dyneema shock cord I tried to find something online but most commercial products are longer, I guess your friend might be into sailing and people there often know how to weave their own cords ![]()
How long did you blow btw, did you use commercial one at specific temp or the just. hair dryer? ![]()
Nothing special. Just a small hot air blower for arts and crafts. Nothing commercial. I did it 3 times overall as each of the previous attempts wasn’t enough.
I used it one time in the waves and one time on flat for maiden ride.
It ran perfectly, like my strait cable, even when trigger pushed to the max. Taking in consideration my BLheli is always set to 50amp max battery side.
Cheers
Ty man, will keep trying ![]()
