Sequre 12200 throttle calibration and BLHeli_32 firmware issue

The ESC is Sequre 12200 with BHHELI_32 firmware.

First issue: Low power

With a new ESC, I cannot get it the throttle to go beyond about 10% power. This was the same on my prior Sequre 12200, and feels like some kind of factory setting.

I can do throttle calibration (using VX3 Pro), and it seems to work, beeps accordingly to indicate it is set, but still no more than low power.

Ideally, this would be something I could solve without changing the firmware.

Second issue: Can’t connect to firmware config

This is my second 12200. The first has the same issue, but was AM32 firmware and I managed to connect to am32.ca and changed the kv to 140, and perhaps that was the key. I changed some other thing, but nothing that would seem related to the problem.

When I tried to connect this second ESC, I tried to both the am32.ca configurator, and esc-configurator.com, but neither are able to connect (variously will not connect).

I wonder if it’s a blheli_32 issue, where the only way to achieve this is to download the Sequre hosted software.

Now I am stuck, having tried endless variations of cables and configs and sequences.

I had the same issue and solved it somehow, but as I changed multiple things at the same time, I cannot be sure what fixed it.

For me it was completely unrelated to the remote.
Calibration changed nothing there.

The issue went away after I changed some unkwown values in the ESC and properly connected the full battery. Before I did only “Test-Setups” including several Wago connectors and I think that might actually been the main problem.

Thanks, yes that is roughly what I experienced the first time with the AM32.

It seems that my issue lies in the need to use BLHeliSuite32 from Sequre, which is Windows OS only. I got it working with UTM emulator running BLHeliSuite32 on Windows.

I will suggest to anyone buying a Sequre ESC to only choose the AM32 version, but I suppose this is relatively common knowledge.

Here is a wiring diagram, as the USB to ESC wiring is not documented (though somewhat obvious )

The issue seemed to be the throttle max and throttle centre were 2000 and 1500 which I changed to 1500 and 1250 respectively. I changed some other things too (Low RPM Power Protect = off), but not sure exactly what it was.

Here are the Blheli_32 settings, based on that I suspect it to be the Low RPM Power Protect based on what it does

I am pretty sure I did the same, so that is the setting I would try first.
