I would expect that the shear pin or however it is called would be shoot to eternity if the prop get lose a bit. For FR and Shadow prop the cavity is kind of flat, but the threaded shaft is long. If the pin is gone, the prop can’t turn anymore so I guess it should be secured?
However, I never had issues with cw or CCW props. But I do check the nuts by time (@Toto44 any comment on this?)
I see nothing more happening at seahorse.si? So I assume this shop does no more exist, correct?
Hi guys, that’s not true. Seahorse is still alive and so are we.
I have been in touch with countless CNC companies to be quoted for during 2021, all of this to be able to sell props for under 200€.
Sadly, after that much time I still haven’t found a good company to partner with for low quantity (50 pieces or less).
Right now, if we produce 50 pieces, we won’t be able to sell them under 250€. Which is pricey for good reasons (raw material, hard anodizing, electricity price,…). This price doesn’t include freight and vat.
But, if we have more than 50 orders on this first batch, we can do a one time price of 160€ / piece. The only issue being the fact that we would need more than 50 orders,…
Hit me up if you guys think we can start a 50+ props batch. Otherwise I’m still looking for new cnc prices.
Happy new year to everyone!
FWS
Note : CW vs CCW is totally up to what you guys want in the end. I personally prefer CW but we can produce in whatever you want as long as everyone agrees.
Easyfoil already sell their props for under 200€
They have a 6" for 149€ and the 7" prop for 179€.
Best regards
Being totally honest, with no intention to bash anyone, you simply can’t compare 2 products like this because :
- Our products are designed from scratch rather than simply 3D scanning something existing on the market and sell it back. You see this simply by the geometry already…
- Easyfoil’s clone propeller looks like MJF printed (or similar 3D print technology) in metal rather than milled from a solid aerospace aluminum block…
- Price difference when machining a 6, 7, 8, 9 or higher pitch propeller compared to another pitch is almost non-existent for this diameter. A 5 axis mill machine will do the job exactly the same way at roughly the same price. (We have all these pitches available and more btw).
What you think you know
Material, and that the Easyfoil Prop is scanned etc …
You don’t know anything, it’s all just speculation!
I don’t even know if you are serious at least about the fact that Easyfoil’s propeller isn’t copied from Flying Rodeo / Lift. I’ve been in this forum long enough to know FR was the first in the game. If you have any doubt about what he said, you can check FR’s posts back in the days…
LOL. Isn’t this what a diy forum is about

? No joke, we can say whatever we want but companies aren’t allowed to speak frankly?

Openly yes, but not unfair!
Especially when it comes to business.
Which material z. B. Easyfoil or Fr uses, nobody knows without a material sample.
Not unfair ? Saying they haven’t been working on this seriously from the start, laughing when they said they cfd’ed the design to be optimized but they still want them to be validated in the field, yes this also looks fair to me

.
I don’t need a material sample to differentiate a 3D printed raw part from a milled part
(not saying easyfoil is 3D printed, Just speaking)
Easyfoil is a milled part, not printed
Hi,
fair points.
We also make our propellers on a 5-axis machine from 7075 aluminium (is that your solid aerospace aluminium block material?)
We have produced a 5.5" pitch with 44mm hub. This is not available anywhere else on the market. (See Picture)
So we’re not copycating anyone
But that’s your threat here with your propellers.
Happy New Year @everyone
This looks really nice… especially with that small hub. it looks very thin as well. This sould really have great effeciency
Happy New year everyone!
Please stop posting about other makers products in this thread guys
.
I don’t understand what you mean at all
. When creating a propeller we don’t make only 1 pitch model. We have virtually all the pitches available. Ranging from 1” if this was ever needed to 15” if this can be used. To be clear, we have …, 5”, 5.5” 6”,… as well. And our hub is 45mm. It has always be…
Please allow me to tell you that yes this is available elsewhere in the market, for at least 1 year.
Kindly open your own thread to discuss your products there. I’m sure there is lots to discuss too.
Best regards,
FWS
Being totally honest, this thread switched to essyfoil because you posted false statements about them when @thorlex just mentioned them, instead of asking to keep on the thread back then.
As for the 5,5 pitch, what easyfoil ment was that, as far as he knew, noone else was selling these props, meaning that they were designed in house, so they are not copycats
I don’t agree. Part, if not all he said is true and no one tells it. You know what ? I would be happy to show you and @JetboardCologne how you THINK you know something but actually don’t lol. I’ll wait till Easy opens his thread (if he ever does. I feel like he won’t
).
Designed in house ? not copycats ? Have you and the genius @JetboardCologne ever used a 3D software with free modeling capabilities ? Do you know you can import a mesh and change the geometry inside the mesh while keeping some area untouched as it was ? haha I have so much to say but will do this later on another thread.
Sorry @FirnasWatersports I couldn’t resist. You guys didn’t even ask him if he has this model and just bashed him instead, then talk about “assumptions” when this is a diy forum, then again about “false assumption” when you couldn’t even spot the difference between a GS5 and a legit PS5. This is truly unbelievable…
Sorry again @FirnasWatersports, not going to respond to this here anymore. Let’s get back to the main topic…
Guys please…
I will check with Jasmin if we can set up a pre order batch on his webshop. If we get 50+ orders (hopefully in the 60+) we can guarantee a price of 160€ / piece (one time batch price, for early people - freight and VAT not included). Production would be planned end of february ideally (will confirm).
As we said we have all the possible pitches, CW or CCW is up to the community. But, to get this price, the whole batch needs to be the same. I believe most of you might be interested in the 7" variant in CCW, so this is what we will set up on the webshop. Finish is matte / hard anodized black. Propeller will be suited for Maytech / Flipsky threaded shafts.
Let me know if you guys want something else.
EDIT : Prop dimensions for Maytech / Flipsky motors (diameter is 150mm) :
Have you considered casting or molding to reduce unit costs? There are some carbon reinforced plastic combos that are very similar to billet 6061 T6. Please lmk if I can be helpful.
