But the complete thing would not fit into the car that way. (Next to the two SUP’s and three surfboards). I have a small 2 wheel sup/kayak wagon thing. It’s ok, but not great.
Current idea for next interation is to put the batteries into a backpack to carry.
But in general I do not use the boogie as much as I would like because the setup is too much work. I need to streamline that somehow.
Yes - I would have to if i want to be sure of not losing a fixed blade prop on my tow boogie. It would be a pain but im going to try it to see if the performance gains warrant it otherwise I’ll stick with folding props which are doing the job just fine at the minute.
Having the brake on when there is no throttle would make the risk of losing fixed props higher so I won’t have that enabled either.
Have a look at the trolley that we do for inspiration- my boogie lives on it makes the process really easy. Can do almost no lifting if you have a good launch spot.
I modified it for my e-bike as well, works great but need to upgrade to proper bearings, have already worn though a set of aluminum axles.
Not in carbon/ nylon as they are molded, but possibly in Aluminum, but would be a one off and they are pretty expensive, and even more so for 2. It’s a lot of cost close to rocks on a dual motor Boogie!
I’m seriously thinking about changing to the sealed motors for durability. I don’t want any more issues with bearings and these motors are copping a flogging in the conditions. I might take you up with those props
what lenght of tow rope are you using? also what lengh are your motor pods ? im about to shorten mine as they cause to much jumping and planeing on the motors
@rttn was it yourself that shared your trim tabs with me via my YouTube channel? If so, thanks so much. I’ve now got a boogie that is rock solid in surf and relatively bumpy conditions. My set up needs the motors only 11” from the rear and on 2 degree shims to tilt the motors down followed by these rim shims at 1cm high.
How far apart are your motors? That played quite a big part in turning angle for me. I printed my base plate at different angles until I had the motors at a distance apart that worked well.

Is there a consensus on whether we use fins or not? I see the photos and people seem to either have no fins at all, one fin or two fins.
Others have half the noodle under the nose.
I have a twin motor setup and considering two fins to add to the trim tabs to keep the board from yawing. And where would you usually install a fin/fins? Thanks in advance
P. S. Also, hijacking my own reply, I remember seeing a discussion about the motor phase connectors to the box. What’s the latest and greatest?
