Would you like to share the stl or step for 5085 pod and hub?
Hi Remi, awesome system you got! I see that you are riding closed to sagres. Planning to come with my foil soon, woluld be cool if we can meet and share a session ![]()
Trying to update my assist as well, especially on the connectors side. Can i ask if you got the LD28 docking version? Or one of the other versions?
Can i ask for the reference of the ali coiled (cant find it) and the length of your ozone wingfoil leash? Is it the one size wing leash ?
Thanks a lot for sharing ! ![]()

I am making he tinkercad designs public, will report back when available
Hello, I am in Santander at the moment unfortunately. Usually in south portugal winter time. It’s the LD28 docking, longest version of the 3 options. For the cable, 3core 13AWG, stretch 2 meter (actual uncoiled length is about 3.5m), https://es.aliexpress.com/item/1005003176716502.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.85.5d361802lU2K4D&gatewayAdapt=glo2esp
For the ozone wingfoil leash (one size I think), I cut it about 20% so that maximum stretched length is 2 meters, coiled cable is 2.5m, this way it takes all the force and protects the coiled cable.
Thanks for posting all the detail. 13awg at 3.5 is a long cable, do you notice it getting warm at all? Maybe the lower current draw of the 5085 motor helps with this.
I’ve noticed my 13awg shorter cable gets quite warm to the touch with 6374 Flipsky motor and twin blade genuine black FOil Drive prop blades.
Hi FoilState,
Looks like you on to a great build .
Do you think the 5085 motor would have enough grunt to get a 95kg rider onto foil? I’m mostly using UHA 870 or 670 when waves are bigger. I like the idea of less drag on mast with smaller motor but don’t know if it would have enough power to get me up?
Cheers Astan
Hey Astan! Have you played around with a foil assist already? It depends on how many amps you need at 44v. If you have good technique to avoid flat water start, using waves to get on foil, and get the speed from the wave and pumping before efoiling, I suspect it’s possible at least on the 870.
A little on assists but more on my boogie. My assist I built was over powered with 160amp esc with 6384 motor on 12s but I’ve just finished the in board build with a vesc and yet to test. Only thing is after foiling behind boogie on prone board it’s hard to go to assist again I’m after the more natural feel assist. I have ordered motor and vesc and will give it a try cheers for advice I think your right with good technique it might still work
Thanks for the reply ! Do you cut the coiled cable so its then 2,5 uncoiled ?
Yes! And the leash is 2m so it’s really safe. Both could be a bit shorter to save weight if only dealing with small waves
Hi Remy
My motor has turned up would you mind sharing the pod files for the 5058 motor
Cheers Aatan
Hi Aatan, I have shared everything there so far (just need to create a free account to access the designs) foilstate - Tinkercad
What prop you are using with 5085? Thanks
I am using 3 foildrive alu blades. I tried 2 blades and I would say it’s not as good, less low end, more top end, more energy consumption it seems (5-10%) as the motor needs to run faster to produce the same thrust. I tried a bunch of proto blades but I have not found better so far. Currently running the 750 silk v2 and able to flat water start quite easily, I get around 13km of session out of 13ah battery which is great, same as the 6384 motor I would say.
These? Aluminium Propellers (Three)
What are you using for the hub? Thanks. I have 5085 and looking for a prop
Yes, I am using the kparts blades that are supposedly the same. For the hub I made my own model that is on tinkercad if you want it, it has a diagonal bottom mount to swap hubs/blades easily. 3d printed in petg-cf 30 walls, it’s basically 100% filled.
Also, It would be great if you can send me a link to buy exact blades you are using.
I have an access to FD scanned props but need the hub.
Tinker cad you say ahh cheers I’ll have a look cheers.
Keen to try this motor on my new deticated assist board build
Has anyone got a clean phase plug idea to be able to remove mast. I’m after a clean zero drag finish
