Where to buy a board

Here’s a pic of the sifly board. I think it’s a great DIY option. Nice size hatch and very easy to adapt to add an esc and battery.

FYI, they are already in production. I have ordered one. Will share the experience with everyone.

Waiting for @StealthFoil to receive his board…

Their hatch locking system is a nice way to go: one fixed side under the board deck, cheap and easy to implement, plus a locking device outside the hatch gasket that doesn’t need to be waterproof (cheaper).

A single allen key like the Nobile NHP spli board locking system could do the job too:

FYI, there is an instruction video on how the board is set up, I believe you can see how the mast is attached. Link below

Which model have you ordered ? Any shipping date announced ? They have an inflatable model at 4990€ shipping in March 2023.

I got a Sifly R Model(75cm mast, 1300 wing set); order was made mid December, and as per my last communication with their sales, it should be ready to ship next week.

To get a cheap efoil board, you could convert a used board and follow the “@virus way” …

Here is another option:

What a bargain! didn’t know you could buy board only from Flite!

Buy the time you buy all the hardware, CF, epoxy, inserts, seals etc. Theres only a few hundred quid init and you know you’re getting a quality product!

Not to mention the 2 months of your life to build one :weary:. No brainier that to me.

I know what I’ll be doing next time I want a board!

This is quite unexpected. 1700€/usd excluding VAT even if not a bargain are 1000€/usd cheaper than the inflatable “Air” model here:
https://eu.fliteboard.com/en-fr/collections/boards

For mainland Europe,
1290 incl VAT + 250€ shipping for a Waydoo board, 2160€ incl shipping (Europe) and taxes for a Fliteboard board …

Few questions though:
1 - Shall we conclude that the market has reached a plateau in 2023 and that the several brands adress to home builders to develop/maintain its revenue ??
2 - Does LIFT sell boards only ?
3 - What is the screw pattern on Flites mast plates ? Are they following the 90x165mm standard ?

1- no, brands aren’t catering to DIY. They are allowing their existing customer base to purchase extra boards if they desire.
2 - Lift does sell boards only, but they are a lot more expensive.
3 - not too sure, but an adaptor would be easy enough my make.

I find DIY has a few areas:
1: Those that want a complete DIY setup cause they love it.
2: those that want a cheap setup
3: those that will pay for a complete board and then DIY electronics

Boards are by far the most time consuming and dirty part. So a good quality board for DIY at a decent price is a win.

Which features are these?

Being able to test (and replace when broken) different setups (as in motors, vescs, batterys and wings).
Being able to tell people “I build it myself”, and in my case being able to tell the water police that it does not need a registration number as it is an experimental DIY project.

New LIFT3 F (glass fibre) efoil, 8995USD with 9.3kg “light” battery and fibre reinforced polymer propeller…

Couldn’t agree more mate! been there twice and thats enough for me.
As for Flite mast clamp, I think it wouldn’t be too difficult to get one CNC’d or even make one from CF.

Does anyone have the dimensions or the CAD drawing of the mast base of the Flite Boards?

I did not find a CAD drawing but this video gives an overview on how the connection mechanism generally works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zSfWHFthjw&t=155s

Also I have attached a drawing that might be somewhat helpful. If someone has access to a Fliteboard, it would be great if you could take some measurements.
