Wingset lift: what matters most?

Hi folks,

I’m picking up an old project (see Boris eFoil attempt: planing but not flying) and replacing my front wing.

I’ve got a little comparison of a bunch of options but I’m trying to figure out how to reason about lift. My wingset is the Naish and most of the other options I’m looking at are drastically different.

Any thoughts on what matters most? Span? Surface area? Aspect ratio?

Thanks experts!

I’d go either the Progression 170 or PNG1010. The higher aspect is more efficient.
Both Axis and Unifoil have good foils if you want a different wings.

Oops, just realized I might need to replace more than just the front wing. My current set wing & mast are Naish-specific, and mast attaches to the board. Seems like a lot of more modern options come as a whole package.

The Lift mast has a totally different cross-sectional shape! Bit of a bummer for sure.

But less stable, as far as I understand? I’m a total noob skill wise — have been building for a while but haven’t ridden an efoil at all

High aspect are more stable as the wingspan is wider. They are way nicer to ride than the older wings.

But also quicker lift increase with increased angle, quicker stalling due to lower stall angle.

For what it’s worth, ended up getting a Naish HA 1840 because it was the only modern front wing compatible with my old fuse.
