Salut,
I printed with 100% in ASA . this design work only with a water pump
if you want to use it without pump, you need to move the hole on the front of the nose

thanks a lot Jean Francois. You’re a star.
Do you know if the ready to print STL is available somewhere with the hole in front of the nose?
Keep it up.
Last but not least, which foil would you advise? I’m still hesitating with Gong but they are cheap, which one would you go for ? Allvator v2 L? (I’m 1m78 / 72kg) or more a HA one ? I wish I could use my existing kitefoil (but it’s a 1200cm gravity fone / kite) or my wing foil (AFS, but the mast is so far WAY to expensive and full carbon)
My advise : Gong V1 65CM alu with curve XL
V1 alu vs V2 : cheaper, lighter, good enough for an efoil
the V2 is better for Wing or kite
If you want a very light Efoil you can choose the gong V2 carbon 70cm
(it’s my new project )
I may add , v1 mast is ok for 72kg , but with xl wing and 98kg ( at the time…) , I bent it on a tight turn
thanks. How do you plan to drill through the v2 carbon mast ?!!! why do you go for 70cm ? I have 82cm on my wingfoil and it’s awesome !
Gong carbon mast is 649€
it’s Airex core inside the mast so it’s easy to drill with a 8X60cm drill
and the price is 419€ and less if it’s used (see on leboncoin )

Hi Jeff, this tread is just fantastic! I just jumped in this build adventure . You mentioned that you turn on/off using the kill, is this safe for the ESC? Based on your knowledge do you think a circuit breaker could work to turn on/off
Hi
No issue after 4 years with this relay. No VESC burned
I think it’s better to use this vaccum relay
Merci Jean François, i will implement the Kilovac which looks a clever idea. Where did you purchase the normally close switch? I found only open so far.
Another question, is your BMS on the battery controlling both charging and discharging or only charging? If discharging what the Amp cut off is set to?
here you have a link @jp833402
My bms controlling both charging and discharging.
Amp cut off is set to 120A
just placed a purchase order for the Lanyard kill switch, thanks . Need to order the kilovac now. What is your battery max current discharge and continuous current discharge amp?
Flipsky told me that a 80-100 Amp continuous discharged is required for my 65161 …any thoughts
Why 80-100 amp ?
my flipsky work at 17 amp
Not sure they know what they talk about…
That is why I am totally lost despite having read tons of post on this forum . I still don’t know what is the minimum battery I can use for my 65161 (commercially available battery I mean since I am not skilled enough to build it) at least to test my set up and components.
Regarding your low current consumption, I think you are the world champion…
I don’t know what is commercially available for you but builders here use from 12S12P to 14S14P (3x3 = 9 combinations). Look at the activity of @jeffM, @V_S, @Flightjunkie
The S number (max number of cells in series) is also dependent from your ESC (max voltage /4.2V). Due to construction, an even S number allows to have both thick copper supply busbars on the same side of the battery pack. That’s why we mostly see 12S (60v max ESCs) and 14S (75V max ESC) on this forum. 15S and above can be deadly in water and should be avoided for an efoil use.
Many users have chosen to split the S number in two packs to be able to use a RC charger like the ISDT8 and not use a BMS (supervised charge only) responsible for a couple of fires (@Flightjunkie recommendation).
Thanks four you precious advices @SoEFoil. I clearly underestimated the battery part. I don’t want to pollute @jeffM ´si thread with my beginner’s question. For the moment I fight with my PLA mast clamp that exploded when I screwed it. Will make another one in PA/carbon much more resistant.
hello there
just reading your post , i guess you live in a cold country since you need coolant at night … …i live in dubai when the coledst water is 24 degrees and go to 35 degrees in summer … not sure if it will work … ??
i m running water pump from input at front of the cone …don-t like it …i m looking for aluplate to cool down from the mast …
Hi Jeff, tried the link but don’t seem to have access to download the STLs, so sent an access request through Google Drive. Thanks if you have time to grant me download access
Hi
try now I think it’s ok now
Thanks, worked wonders, in the printer now
Hello!
May I also ask you to open the access to the files? I tried asking for an access some days ago, but nothing
Thank you!
