Flipsky vx5 remote

That is an option, but I don’t see the point. It’s far easier to have a Bluetooth connection and keep your phone in a waterproof pouch under your vest. You can view and log real-time without having to first remove the sd card and put it in the PC. Also, I’ve heard some stories with Vesc express being not so user friendly.

We never had any issues with VESC Express, and you don’t need to remove the SD card to access the logs.

The VESC Express is accessible over both WiFi and BLE (Bluetooth).

Also. Depending on the GPS antenna used, VESC Express can log way faster GPS data as an iPhone or Android app. The apps are stuck to what the phone’s GPS does, and this is no more than 1Hz (1 time per second).

Besides this, there is no “yours truly” Android version available for live logging, so Android users are stuck with VESC Tool for logging.

My dad is working on a new Android app that will basically do what “Yours Truly” does for iPhone.

What is this purple wire labeled “Bat” on the receiver?

Its for the + of your battery, now you can see your Voltage. Like to help you out.

Better ask. Are connections on my receiver correct? I was able to run the motor, but I am not fully sure.

By the looks you have a 75200 Vesc. You don’t need the purple bat wire, that’s only useful when using PPM. You can simply use UART and it will show all the data.

Looks like you are wired for UART but without a clear picture of both ends kind of hard to say.

Thanks. It now makes sense. I will verify.

There is a new version V1.1.1 of firmware and documentation available of the Flipsky download site.

If you are considering using the IMU capability it would seem prudent to use this version vs the V1.1.0 as they have added in some “safety” features that help with accidental movements.

EDIT. All of the changes by each version are listed at the end of the user manuals and often highlighted in blue text in body of manual.
END EDIT

I don’t have a reason to implement the IMU features
or dual channel but am curious whether anyone has experimented with it. Wonder whether you could control motor with trigger and servo steering with IMU.

This is a new YouTube that helps with the new features.

Here is a video demoing the IMU steering feature:

Looks fun!
I had the idea to steer with the BREmote V2 like this too, but while foiling this seems hard to do this in a controlled way
