Freerchobby definitely have quality control as if it were ‘free’
It would be fixable, but how much do you realistically want to faff with the motor…

" Motor is updated with roller bearing and thread shaft. It’s more stable and reliable. And Motor back cover is updated with 4 mounting holes.

So there is thread shaft then, they should also update the picture:)

Well they should come from the same factory as the others, I think this issue has been mentioned previously with another brand, can’t find the post. I asked for prices for a group by a while ago and it was pretty close to what Freerchobby offer. They ever purchase massive quantity or marge less than others.

Wonder is this Freerchobby motor having the pump style ceramic seal or the older model?

I bought this motor. Unfortunately, they sent me a motor with a non-threaded shaft.
The screws on the cover were unscrewed without any effort, despite the fact that they were processed with some kind of thread lock. The condition of the gasket and the bearing marking in the photo. The shaft and O-ring will have to be changed, I am disappointed with the purchase.

At least you could unscrew the cover easily. One of the screws snapped off on mine.

I’m wondering if a 6384 or 63100 would have been a better choice for my tow boogie, I’m expecting the seal to fail one day on my 65161 and let saltwater inside it.

Another disappointment - the shaft is not pressed out, it shifts a little to one side and the other, and that’s it. It looks like it’s fixed on the inside.

If anybody is looking I found the ceramic shaft seals, I found these on Amazon. I took a chance because they were cheap. They showed up today and seem to be a match. Original seal on right. It doesn’t come with the washers and snap ring. So don’t loose those. I’m changing the bearing and thought I would change the seal too

Did those work for you? My motor is much more noisy on the first ride of the spring and worried the bearings are going.

I’ve ran the motor with the new seals a couple times so far so good. They seemed to be the same.

I had to replace my bearing to get rid of the noise. After removal it was clear the bearing was corroded.

I replaced it with this one

Thanks! I’m ordering those now and planning on replacement when they come in.

Anyone have any tips on getting the back bearing out?

Tried heat and some PB blaster but can seem to make it move.

Must have had some water leak it because the bearings was pretty bad…

Go to a bicycle shop, they have special tools.

Take a 1mm wire and shape it as U with two short hooks at both top ends of the U. Place it from the inside where the shaft was, with the hooks in the gap between the bearing and the cover. The you can place a 12 mm rod from the outside of the cover and gently press or hammer it out.

Just ordered one of these. Should work well and I’ll get it tomorrow to try out.

You used that on the rear bearing? Trying to wrap my head around that.

It only works if there is a small gap between the bearing and the cover. I used in on a 63100, it is slightly different

Sat_be - How long have you used the outrunner 63100 in saltwater until SS bearings are that rusted?
