Setting problem flipsky / vesc tool

hi all out there
Material:
Flipsky : Fsesc 75200 / motor 65161/ remote VX5 V1.0.2 release (aug 2025)
Vesc tool 6
Problem:
I can not see any battery info on the remote. Also on the vesc tool I can not see any battery info
(remote: voltage ,bat current ,motor current, power // vesc tool: battery, current, power)
(Also the gps info dos not work but less important)
The pairing worked and also de vesc tool instruction worked (I followed instructions the YouTube “vesc setup for efoil “flipsky 65161 & 75200” )

Then I was not able to give any throttle because I get warning on the remote “low battery les then 2%” although battery was fully charged (battery 13s 48v , measured 54V)
I disables on the remote the warning : board setup/low battery warn “off” then I was able to use the throttle. I guess throttle automatic turns off when warning “low battery” is on?
Setup Remote: Board setup/esc type “ppm esc” , board setup/ signal type ”ppm”
Anyone any ideas how to get the battery info on the vesc tool and remote?

I believe your issues stem from how you set this up. UART supports the telemetry you want

You need to use UART as opposed to ppm Lots of posts here on how to do that but basically use a different cable that came with the VESC to connect the receiver to the UART port on the VESC

You also need to make changes in the vx5 “remote setup” . If you don’t have the detailed manual you can download it from the link I made in the VX5 topic

Indeed, use UART instead of PPM and your problems will be solved.

Did you connect the VBAT wire from the remote receiver to the battery positive terminal?

If not, that will cause the “low battery” warning and no battery level showing on the remote or in the app when using PPM mode.

As others mentioned, you can also use UART mode, which doesn’t require the battery wire.

More of your uninformed advice!!

I and others use Bluetooth and UART concurrently on Flipsky 75200 - well documented in topics on this forum.

Bluetooth for VESC management and logging
UART for telemetry data over remote receiver.

@Foilguy

Thanks for the correction, by default you put the Bluetooth in the UART slot, and the last thing I read was about PPM then UART and put them together.

I didn’t realise you could reconfigure to get both, that makes sense and is a better setup.

I’ve edited. I searched everywhere and even posted about it when I did my first setup that the remote kept giving me the battery warning, with no luck, and it was the battery wire.

A good thing for beginners to know.

i saw topic Help with Flipsky 65161 75200 and VX3
but stil strugglin with the wiring. (75200/65161/VX5)
i used port #2 /servo,5v,GND/ for connecting the reciever VX5 (flipsky info  )so this is only ppm , wil not use it any longer (no battery info)
(weekend)
today found the right wire settings ,i guess i am on the right track now🤗
port 2 only PPM , port 4 ok for uart

Possible to plug kabel in on the right or left sitde (it leaves 1 pin open)
open pin right = 3V so not ok

open pin left site = ok for VX5 reciever and uart
