My kids are mastering the efoil and want to progress with the assist to pump…
Because I am afraid of the propeller I am thinking of kids save solutions.
I tested a different motor mount today on my smallest board (90cm). See pics:
Starting this setup was different as the motor pulls the board down and took me some time to figure it out. But once up it felt OK and pumping was OK too.
But still just half kids safe.
A jet/impeller based solution would be the best.
Maybe something between mast and board!?
Would be great to hear some ideas from from this great community!?
Does anybody know a reference project to a DIY jet/impeller based solution?
Thank you for the tips!! I appreciate it a lot!
Before I go to Sunshine Coast, I will be at Melbourne from 20. to 31.12.2025.
Do you may have some suggestions for Melbourne too?
In specific for good “foildrive” and “tow boogie” spots?
Can be a few hours with the car if it makes sense…
Thanks alot!
I changed all my phase cable from LMT 6mm to XT150 with hangloose style connector. The XT150 is longer and “physically stronger”. With the LMT I had issues after multiple usage. Once I have even sparks in the LMT connectors because the male part got bended after multiple usage.
XT150 feels very good.
I tested it with my small tow and big battery for >1h full load.
Very happy with the HarryM BWESC 220. But the battery got so hot that the BMS turned off…
What voltage config do you have?
I had at first reduced power caused by voltage drop. Running on 12s2p with molice 42 and 30cm awg8 wires.
I adapted to:
I have not checked yet where/why the voltage dropped that much. But it caused the Vesc to limit phase amps. What phase amps do you really reach at full load?
To be honest, I haven’t been keeping any logs. I was planning to solder a Vesс Express to the CAN bus, but I never found the time.
I’ll try changing the limits.
